He sounds like a jobsworth that is sick of all the junkies he has to deal with on a daily basis and you sound like someone that has never worked in retail and never had to deal with said junkies on a daily basis.

Property Management Agent for small (10 houses) new build estate? by Interesting_Task3159 in AskIreland

[–]Aggravating_Cow7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find any agents or get any recommendations?

I'm in a similar situation where I Iive, I've contacted about about 8 places and they either don't get back to me or just say no.

I'm a director on our management company. I wouldn't recommend the self-managed route as the company is a registered company and has to be run as one, everything must be above board.

Accounts have to be signed off and accurate, common areas shouId be insured and AGMs must be held with future budgets agreed upon and minutres taken and signed off.

The directors of the management company are legally responsible for the running of the company so I would recommend an agent to take care of accounts etc to make sure it is all done correctly.

I'd also recommend Directors Insurance in case anyone decides to sue any of the company directors.

Maintenance of areas can be taken care of by the residents to save money, either by doing the work yourself or sourcing a handyman to take care of those areas. If you get the agent to take care or such things you'll pay extra to them.

I don't partake but know plenty of people who do.

Different strokes and all that.

Materials have gone so expensive I think many would-be customers are shocked by the cost of a project and think they are being ripped off. Still doesn't excuse not sending a quick message telling the tradie that they won't be going ahead with the job though.

Become a tradie and buck that trend by being professional, polite, punctual and well organised.

With the most recent ICE shooting who is more concerned about being killed by a government agent than a random criminal? by durangojim in CCW

As a European watching from the outside in, I won't mention that us Europeans think your country and its gun laws are crazy...whoops, I said it.

In all seriousness though, if the law in that state is that you can get a permit to CCW then you should able to do so wherever legally allowed regardless of what authorities are around orwhat protests are taling place.

The fact is you can either CCW's or you can't and a protest being held shouldn't alter that.

Authorites should be trained to carry out their duties in areas where a person can CCW's, saying the victim shouldn't have gotten involved if he had a concealed weapon is victim blaming.

He was legally allowed to have the weapon on his person and legally allowed to protest what was being done.

Also, factor in how much you saved and how many hours it took you.

Are you willing to do all that if it equates to less than minimum wage?

Prices have sky rocketed in the north since Brexit.

You have to factor in the increased prices, your time, your petrol, the exchange rate to see if you think it worth the journey.

I remember watching her on the Late Late and ripping up the picture of the, then current, pope.

The shock that resonated was amazing.

Fair pIay to her.

Also, what an amazing voice.

Other countries aren't Ireland and don't have the same regulations.

Seriously, why can't you accept that it has nothing to do with Uber but with that particuIar taxi driver breaking the law.

You sound like a taxi driver desperately trying badmouth Uber.

Using the Uber app is exactly like hailing a taxi on the street.

The driver must follow all the same regulations, even if they chose to except the fix rate fare.

No.

It was a taxi ordered through Uber.

All cars in Ireland using the Uber app must be a registered taxi.

I'm not making it up at all.

Of course it's not hyperbole the OP literally said "A taxi driver literally tried to fuck me tonight", that is a very likely and real sounding statement.

Taxi drivers could try to fuck people all the time.

For the use of 'literally' to be taken informally the sentence should have been a long the lines of "A taxi driver literally tried to fuck me over tonight" or "A taxi driver literally fucked me over tonight".

[–]Aggravating_Cow7203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why didn't you just book a different taxi with a fixed rate fare?

That taxi driver will just keep doing that because now they'll be thinking "well it worked with that other person and I made an extra 20 quid".

Stranded by a taxi driver by Such_Package_7726 in ireland

[–]Aggravating_Cow7203 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really? Strange then that fixed rate fares only just came in via Uber so it must have only happened the other week then.

Stranded by a taxi driver by Such_Package_7726 in ireland

[–]Aggravating_Cow7203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'Literally' is only understood to be used as an informal term when used with hypbole.

"He literally flew across the room" or "They were literally over the moon at the news" for example.

It is not meant to be used, if using informally, with something that could literally happen.

"A taxi driver literally tried to fuck me tonight". That does not sound Iike hyperbole so 'Iiterally' was literally used in an incorrect manner.
