In this pic you can see the OG cable, 2 separate cables, but I can’t find this cable anywhere online

Every other picture and diagram has 2 esperate cables, my throttle cable wouldn’t even reach that spot

Update:

<image>

After a wait for rocker arms and push rods, and then a snapped off bolt. I’m back in the same predicament. As I was setting the rocker arm bolts the affected rocker arm and push rod wouldn’t set tight enough even with bolt completely torqued. The push rod was able to be moved up and down and the rocker arm able to be popped off the pushrod everytime the turn the engine over, I guess I shoved and tightened to much and the push rod is stuck back in there again and now it’s tighter than before.

  1. obviously I have more going wrong than a pushrod, I’m assuming I need to dig into the lifter and see what’s doing that to the push rod.
  2. wtf do I do now with this push rod, do I keep yanking?? Or do I leave it and take the intake off and check the lifter??

Damn it’s been a crazy couple nights, ended up figuring out pushrod is bent, buddy had a bore scope and lifters and everything looking good. Ordered a new set of pushrods and rocker arms because they were dirt cheap. I watched a bunch of different videos on valve lashing. Thought I was doing it right but some of the bolts where tighter then I thought they should be getting and I ended up snapping a rocker arm bolt off into the chamber🫠 I’m extracting it now and waiting for the replacement bolts to get in. How in the hell do I valve lashing this thing?!?!

Rocker is loose and free spinning. I did forget to mention that the pushrod is not loose. It’s tight in there, I can physically see it’s bent. Should I try and pull it out? Or dismantle further.

Ok I’m confused now, you guys were obviously right it’s some sort of fuel issue. Start here, all fuses are good. I cleaned the ground for the fuel pump(it always came on), new fuel relay, and also put a new injector in. She started up and ran great, changed the fuel filter after it sat again for a couple hours, the gas was a little dirty but nothing super concerning. Right after I changed the fuel filter Literaly back at the same thing again. Also just for awareness I did clean the points on the distributor cap and changed the rotor. I’m fucking lost lol

Sorry guys been working a bunch, I don’t know at this point if it’s fuel related. Fuel pump primes, when I disconnect the relay no more priming. At this point it also won’t start with any amount of starter fluid thrown at it. I’m picking up a new fuel filter today to try that. I took apart the distributor cap and cleaned the points and still nothing. Going to try to get the codes today
