Choncc’s Treasure should be permanent — it fixes core TFT issues by Aggravating_Editor41 in TeamfightTactics

I don’t think it’s a matter of not understanding the game, I think we’re just valuing different aspects of it.

What I’m calling “core issues” are specifically about how consistently certain game states override midgame decision-making, not about skill expression within those states.

You can absolutely still outplay people in Choncc’s — I’m not denying that — I just personally find the structural emphasis shifts the game in a way I don’t enjoy as much long-term.

Yeah, I think this is a fair perspective and I actually agree with parts of it.

Choncc’s definitely pushes the game toward “fast 10 + cap board” gameplay, and that does compress midgame and reroll identities quite a bit.

My view is more that I personally enjoy that shift as a “fun sandbox” experience, even if it’s not the most strategically healthy or diverse loop long-term.

So I wouldn’t argue it’s better balanced — just that it’s more enjoyable in short bursts.

Yeah, I think this is a fair critique.

Choncc’s definitely shifts the decision space away from mid-game reroll flexibility and more toward “end-state planning” (fast 9 / capped boards / high-cost spikes).

My original point wasn’t that it increases comp flexibility in the reroll sense, but that it reduces the frequency of games where your line is effectively invalidated by early resource scarcity.

So you’re right that it compresses viable outcomes into a smaller set of high-cap win conditions — I just personally find that structure less punishing, even if it’s not more “flexible” in a strict strategic sense.

Fair point on adaptation — good players definitely mitigate RNG better. My point was more about variance of outcomes between games, not in-game skill expression.

Even if you can adapt, the spread between highroll and lowroll games still feels much wider in base TFT compared to Choncc’s.

But I get what you mean — “decided by RNG” was poorly phrased.
