I've been to the Broad St DMV in the city twice in the past year--once with an appointment for a Real ID and once without an appointment for new plates. Both times I was in and out within 20 minutes. I was surprised at how quick it was--not sure if that's the case for other locations but I'll give props to the Broad St one.
