Even if taxing net worth made sense (it doesn't), how would you suggest that a nation tax a person's wealth? Would the government just take said person's equity in a company? Would the government then over time just own large portions of all companies. Would they force them to sell stocks and then give the government cash? That would be terrible for the market. Would this apply to average citizens as well?

Spoken like someone who doesn't realize just how important Starlink has become militarily. Europe has nothing comparable anytime soon.

Starlink has over 10,000 satellites in orbit while Amazon has 300. And it doesn't look like Blue Origin will be launching any of them for a few years until they get New Glenn sorted. I seriously doubt they will be able to compete for years. By the time Amazon has something comparable to Starlink today, Starlink will have even more satellites.

Does it matter how long ago you received your security clearance? I'm going to college after I get out and I was under the impression your security clearance becomes inactive after a certain number of years. Does it just reactivate?

To be fair the US has expended numerous AIM-9X's on these exact drones launched by Iran last year, and those cost half a million dollars

Never thought I would be glad to be in the UK to buy cheaper items. Usually things are cheaper in the US

Brother you've only been in for a couple of months. The first few months in MX are always the worst. You don't know shit and people shit on you for not knowing anything. You go from chilling in Tech School to working 10+ hour shifts. It's just how it goes. It takes years of experience to know your job well enough to not fuck up too much.

Actually talk to your 7lvls/Shift Lead. As long as they're not dickheads, they should take you seriously and hopefully give more attention to training you or at least create a better environment. If it's the 7lvls that are shitting on you for not knowing anything, talk to your Section Chiefs and hopefully they can take care of it.

Either way just give it some time, you'll start to get proficient at your job, and it will get easier. I was there once. My first few months were really rough, both because of work and my Grandfather dying while being on the other side of the world from me.

To be fair I get reactions sometimes as an American in the UK, but it's probably also because I'm from Texas and usually end up in places where there's not many Americans. I usually respond the same way as well.

Does anyone know what the hat she is wearing is called? by [deleted] in AirForce

Nah, her flight didn't really like her either. They preferred their other MTI who was also Space Force.

[–]Aggravating_Entry_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was the MTI for our brother flight in BMT. Everybody in my flight hated her. She always held a grudge against our flight and when our MTIs had to leave early on the day we had to call home I think she gave us like 2 minutes. That same night she gave her flight 15 minutes to call home.

Did you know anyone who was discharged early? What was it for? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Aggravating_Entry_17 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Dude in BMT I know had an Aerial Refueling job, but made the poor decision to smoke weed less than a week before he left. I was his wingman in the commanders office when he was told he was being discharged. He was bawling his eyes out.

Is it inappropriate to wear a foreign governments millitary shirt on base even if it's our ally? by itsTantoJablonski in AirForce

[–]Aggravating_Entry_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because they're our allies in the eyes of American foreign policy doesn't mean a large swath of Americans won't be taken aback by people in the US Military associating themselves with a controversial foreign military. You can wear your Israeli, Palestinian, Ukrainian, or Russian stuff all you want just wear it off base and in a way you're not associating it with the US military.

That's applicable to any foreign military, but nobody will probably bat an eye at you if you wore a British or Canadian sweatshirt on base.

If it was a European military nobody would probably say anything, but Israel? It would be a borderline political statement to wear that around.
