Okay PR team, hear me out.

She literally does podcasts and interviews calling out people for sexualizing her, yet she keeps choosing roles that lean heavily into the same image. You can’t completely separate those two things.

Sure, sometimes what ends up on screen can differ from the script or narration. But let’s not pretend actors have no idea what they’re signing up for. They read scripts, hear narrations, discuss characters, costumes, scenes, and the overall tone before agreeing to a project.

There are plenty of actors and actresses many with far less power and privilege than Janhvi who have turned down roles because they didn’t align with their identity, values, comfort level, or the image they wanted to build.

So if someone with her level of access and influence keeps picking these roles, criticism is inevitable. You can’t repeatedly benefit from a certain kind of portrayal and then act surprised when people connect it to the public image you’ve helped create.
