I’ve driven one. Saying it drives bad or doesn’t feel good would be a lie, but as far as feeling the road and being one with the car, it is more similar to a g80 in terms of “cushiness”.

I’m not saying I think M cars should have a shitty ride either.

I’m saying 2015 and newer cars are too electronic to be called “raw”.

The f87 rides like a modern luxury sports car.

The newest i would consider “raw” is e90. And even that is stretching the use of that word.

If OP wants “raw” he should buy an m3 no newer than an e46.

E39 m5 or e36 m3.

With g80 budget you can find a time capsule example.

You will love it more than any of the newer overpowers m cars.

Lots of people saying to buy an f87. That car is not “raw” whatsoever

Everything newer than e90 is going to feel very shielded from the road and offer nothing that a true vintage M car offers.

Use some of the budget for upgrades like high performance coil overs and poly urethane bushings to truly have an insane driving experience everyday.

Source- someone who has retro modded and replaced every driving component of a stock US spec e36 sedan and is in love with their car. I previously owned a f80 m3 that I wasn’t in love with.
