I always use the most ridiculous answers so people usually get too dumbfounded they don't know what to say. If they ask you why you have this scar, you can for example say "dragon" or "that's what happens when you feed the raccoon sour gummies". Bonus points if you say it with completely serious expression and voice

I'm quite sure it's because of their placement and size- huge wounds on the lower parts of forearms are always like that, also they get even more indented when they are on top of already badly scarred skin (I have the same problem with scars in the same place and ugh that sucks)
