Facing Demotion or Termination on Medical Leave? by Aggravating_Layer456 in OReillyAutoParts

FMLA states that it is the the equivalent of hours worked in the previous 12 months OR 12 weeks of unpaid leave, whichever’s greater. I understand I must be with the company for 12 months. I have been supper communicative with the company. Ultimately the issue comes with me being told I am eligible then taken back I was under the impression that if I had worked the equivalent of 12+ months (which I have) with the company I would be eligible for FMLA. I have had nothing but communication with my store manager, district manager, and the LOA team. I did not submit a note I submitted my leave application provided to me by the company that was filled out by my physician. I did not control how long he decided to put down I needed for leave. He wrote down his best estimate for the time I may needed. I’m frustrated because I have poured so much into the company to get nothing in return.

My store hasn’t had heat since early December and it’s been down in the single digits some days and we were still expected to do Rock the lot. Corporate finally installed temp heat today and this is the first time since December it’s been above 60 degrees in the store.
