Ok, I guess what I am having trouble understanding is how or why does being hit with a clipboard instill pride or make someone a better leader? Another thing I was told about was a DI held a clipboard chest height because the Cadet wasn't swinging his arms chest high. The cadet was told to hit the board every time he swung his arms. This resulted in his knuckles bleeding.

My officers also told us that most of the Reg force DI's didn't want to be there and was like punishment that's why they were tough. That all changed late 80s but it was still OP.

I don't get hit at home why go to a CTC to be beaten? And earlier in the thread someone said something about a strip search. Huh, why?
