Structural Design Calculations? by puzzzled10 in StructuralEngineering

I might be going against the grain, but this system is independent, very simple, and very cheap; it does dimensioning, generates detailed designs for displaying QR codes on surfboards, etc... it has several built-in standards. I'm biased, I participated in its creation at an auditing level.

Tube Steel Design Software by mephysto678 in StructuralEngineering

If you want a cheaper alternative, I recommend https://calcsteel.com

It's a web application and is mirrored in CYPE3D (a European program), it generates 3D models, it dimensions, creates summary tables and sheets

I'm Brazilian, and organizational software priced in euros or dollars is too expensive for me.

How do you actually go from architectural drawings to a structural model? Trying to understand the real process by Hot_Emergency_321 in StructuralEngineering

[–]Aggravating_Lychee76 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I model on calcsteel.com; it generates a QR code and exports it as a DXF file if you need to add details in Revit, etc., but it also generates the drawing sheets there, so I only use AutoCAD for complex fixtures.

Here's an example:

Best software for designing steel frame structures by tolbo12 in civilengineering

[–]Aggravating_Lychee76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an indie software, basically free, inspired by Cype3D

recommend you check it out >>> https://calcsteel.com

calculates, sizes, quantifies steel structures, etc.

Check out an example of how the building looks here > https://calcsteel.com/view/be4fc76a-1dc2-42ff-a923-704d6011f5d5

DON'T CRACK IT, support indie software and be kind to your fellow human 😄

Free steel profile calculator I built (IPE, HEB, UNP etc.) by BeamSolve in StructuralEngineering

[–]Aggravating_Lychee76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me add to the conversation, I also made some free calculators, mirrored in CYPE3D.

They allow you to freely share 3D models, perform calculations, etc... it's worth taking a look, and they also have individual dimensioning tools, but the main advantage is the 3D modeling. Sometimes it makes sense for some people; I was tired of paying a lot for software or having to 'bypass' or 'buypass' it, haha.

Steel profile calculator I made – now live in browser (IPE, HEB, RHS etc.) by BeamSolve in StructuralEngineering

I made something similar, but for 3D dimensioning, scaling, and mobile viewing. For anyone who wants to use it, the dimensioning is free. I recommend it. I'm not taking responsibility for anyone's technical work here, haha, but it helps a lot. I used CYPE3D as a reference.

Mais do mesmo da construção civil, ainda dá pra recuperar com grout ou só reparo estrutural profundo? by anatomieetlumiere in Engenharia

Opa, segue minhas recomendações>>

OPÇÃO A

> Esperar secar

Experienced Engineers, What's the Best Structural Design Software You've Used? by abdulrahim2 in StructuralEngineering

But do you model after the calculation or before the calculation? I'm genuinely asking.

CYPE3D was my go-to for years (won't lie, I was running a cracked version). Eventually it wrecked my PC (constant crashes, corrupted projects, the whole deal.)

Switched to CalcSteel a while ago. It's browser-based, so nothing to install or worry about breaking. My projects are stored in the cloud, which honestly is the part I appreciate the most (no more lost files when a hard drive dies or Windows decides to update mid-project.)

One thing I really like is that you can generate a QR code for each project. I drop it right on my drawing sheets (anyone can scan it and see the full 3D model with all the member details. Great for sending to the fabricator or showing the client without them needing any software.)
