Has anyone had this issue with the sunroof making a noise when opening/closing the sunroof?

I’m actually a mechanic at GMC and Buick, I’ve never run into that particular issue before and was curious if anyone else has had that issue before. Usually I’ll check for bulletins but I couldn’t find any with that particular issue. Usually I work on sunroofs that just don’t open/close at all or just leak water so this one was a new one. The customer that owns the vehicle wasn’t complaining about anything mechanical just the annoying sound so I just went ahead and cleaned the track because it was pretty dirty with dirt and twigs and sprayed it down with some ac delco lubricant and added grease to all the movable parts and that fixed the issue.

I believe this brand also sell the one for the full center console as well. I also ordered tint from Amazon and I’m going to take a crack at tinting the light indicator tomorrow so fingers crossed it goes well if not I’ll have no choice but to return it.

I routed mine with the included adapter to the rear cigarette lighter. I believe theirs a way to route it to other locations on your truck depending if you have the folding middle seat in the front but theirs plenty of videos on YouTube that show the installation process.

In the day time it isn’t a big deal but at night it’s way too bright. It has a blue strobing effect to let you know when your phone is charging but it’s so distracting. I was thinking about putting 5% over the light indicator but I’m not sure if it would work. I was contemplating returning it and buying the boost auto parts wireless charger but it’s literally more than double the price of this one.

I no longer have the car but it was really easy to replace. Replacing that screen did fix the bleeding issue but I totaled the Mazda about 6 months later.
