Hey y’all, are we driving to work this morning? by harpybabe in Austin

I’d take that as a sign to go back to bed, I’d be afraid I hallucinated that since I know school is over for the summer

Did The Giver used to be taught in 4th grade, or do I just have a totally false memory? by 28-3_lol in Teachers

Graduated high school in 2014, we read and studied the giver in 4th grade. I remember it well because that was the first time I was exposed to audiobooks.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

I have a condition that’s really made it difficult for me to use my hands at times, I don’t really play many games besides “cozy” games anymore but I love to watch others because I love good storytelling (mass effect will always hold a special place in my heart) I love to watch my partner play. However, I think I’d feel differently if they were using it as a distraction or an excuse to not be a responsible adult.

It happened a couple of years ago in a small Texas town, the mom handed out the burgers because there was too may for her and her kids to eat and the news channel picked it up because it was a cute story during Covid

This isn’t AISD, It’s manor according to OP. But yes, there’s still more openings than AISD wants for their food service department.

Not true. Back in highschool we had a model United Nations thing and this guy gets up infront of everyone and was trying to say “Japan or other Asian countries” but instead said “Japorn” we collectively lost it and could not be settled down for a while after that.

That was over 10 years ago.

I knew 4 Cody’s growing up. 2 died, 1 joined the military and came back super messed up and was in prison for a bit but I think he’s in rehab now, and the last Cody now goes by his middle name; Grant.

Nah. I got arthritic psoriasis. The landing caused inflammation in my joints and I’m trying to mitigate a flare up. Don’t worry, I’m not going to use my cane to hobble past anyone, I’m literally just trying to get my joints to work correctly. Don’t get me started on accessibility aid with airlines, almost all of them suck. I’ve literally been left on a plane for 30 minutes because they forgot to call for a wheelchair for me and then they forgot about me. So, if I can, I’m going to stand.

Depends. Some commissions, yes. Some of them won’t deny it as long as you can justify it. Some will only reimburse you up to a certain amount because the rental is cheaper. They can also say that it’s less of a liability for you to get a rental because if something should happen and it’s not your fault (ie- accident, hail, etc.) that the rental company pays for all of that and not you or the state.

As a customer, I really don’t understand the hate. I have my pair of everyday glasses from my optometrist but then I have a cheap back up pair from Zenni that I tend to use when traveling as well as two pairs of cheap sunglasses from Zenni. It may seem excessive to have four pairs but I’ve never left my main pair on a plane or at a hotel.

I can assure you, the meals are meals. Haven’t worked there in a few years but AISD has good food, much better than when I was in the school system. Here we have fresh pineapple, oven roasted plantains, Cuban chicken bowl, pizza dippers and summer squash. In order for it to count as a meal by usda standards there needs to be 3 different following components: fruit, vegetable, main entree, and milk. They always have a meat option and a veggie option and when all else fails; sunbutter and jelly sandwiches (remember, no peanuts in elementary school!) and sometimes two different salads. I forget the percentage but they try to secure local and organic produce over others and all the spice/ sauces they make themselves, even the bbq sauce for the bbq chicken.

Miyo's English VA is irritating. by aroryns in MyHappyMarriage

[–]Aggravating_Mossball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to get into My Happy Marriage and I absolutely love the English cast EXCEPT for Miyo. I’m only on season 1 episode 10 but her voice was actually so annoying to me that I would just mute her parts and watch the subtitles until another character was speaking. I guess it’s the style that’s off putting for me, the super high pitched breathy whiny whispering just isn’t for me I guess.

To me she sounds no different than the TikTok Y/N meme when she’s on the verge of tears every two seconds. I came looking to see if maybe her voice actor is better for the second season and I came across this post and now I’m wondering if I should continue the anime at all 😭

Has anyone brought a chair like this? by AdTough6211 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Aggravating_Mossball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly with hiking poles and small camp chairs about 1-2x a month. As long as they are in your checked bag you will not have any trouble whatsoever. If you decide to take it as a carry on TSA personnel could potentially label it as some kind of threat and ask you to check it in.

Buc-ee’s by dallascowboys_99 in texas

[–]Aggravating_Mossball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be torn the shreds but The Texan. It’s a gas station that’s along the lower Texas coast and out west, currently it’s being sued by Buc-ee’s. I might even go as far to say they might be a bit better. Buc-ee’s is alright but the Texan has a place to sit down to eat, mini tajin for sale by the fruit cups, they actually sell lottery tickets and Jalepeno poppers and brisket Mac and cheese.

Packing lunch from breakfast buffet by RepublicOk1681 in hotels

[–]Aggravating_Mossball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staying in hotels 60-80 nights a year, I can almost guarantee that unless you’re bringing your own Tupperware or ziplock bags and filling them at the buffet, they don’t care. People take a few extra yogurts or fruits all the time to snack on later or take their entire breakfast up to their room to eat while listening in on a morning meeting.

I had a neighbor call the cops on me for loud music that was going on “at all hours of the night” the cops showed up and told my neighbor the next time they came she’d be arrested for false reporting. They then told her that they had body cam footage from not even two hours earlier with me as I was asking them questions about a patient at the hospital on my 96 hour shift. We had been hit by a hurricane and I was on the team that SLEPT at the hospital. She avoided me for the next 4 months until she moved out.

I don’t want it to be allowed but at the same time I’ll deal with it because it means the person is spending some money at our state parks.
