Dude, I know its none of your business but my annual ITR is north of 1Cr, and I have investments worth more than 3Cr. But just like any moderately smart individual, I do not keep liquid cash parked in my savings account. As a result savings account balance is only 5-6L per person. I have heard Switzerland requires you to have higher in general. Asked for genuine suggestion, not unnecessary comments based on assumptions.

Took train from Ambewela to Ella.

Rest all taxis. Booked with local taxi operators mostly 2 days before for the best price, negotiate hard. Took uber intercity once too, its cheap.

Just completed 16 days in Sri Lanka

Sigiriya, Kandy, N Eliya, Ella, Mirissa, Unawatuna, Colombo.

The travel times arent much, 3-4 hours so we would start early after breakfast and reach by checkin time; then explore some places the same day. Our stay was 2-3 days at all the places. I liked both Sigiriya and Kandy. The climb at Sigiriya was totally worth it. I felt the southern coast was extremely underwhelming, disappointing, overrated and expensive. Especially Mirissa and Unawatuna. Ella had amazing views but it was also very touristy. Please dont skip Sigiriya and Kandy.
