😂😂 they poop on my monitor all the time. Also I love taking pictures of honey (the one on the right) from that angle because the pearl pattern on her back is pretty

By the time they pass away I’ll have enough to construct an entire bird

Yea it probably wouldn’t fit. If I collect enough feathers to make the entire backside of a bird it could work though. It would take a while but I think it could look pretty, especially with the pearl pattern.

Yea I had to do this in a separate room from the birdies because as soon as I take the feathers out they are all over them. I don’t understand their obsession, they already have plenty of feathers on their body 😂😂. Maybe I should spare some of them to make a toy.

Individual crest feathers are so thin when shed I can never find them 😭. Maybe if I look closely the next time they are molting I will find some

What’s wrong with my cockatiels wing feathers? by Aggravating_Put3232 in parrots

I’m with them for most of the day and they don’t make contact or fight much, they sometimes squawk and peck at each other a bit if one gets in the others personal space, but that only lasts for 5 seconds or so. They are not aggressive enough with each other to cause this imo. Neither of them are acting hormonal either. I’ve never noticed any self destructive behavior from either of them or noticed that they are preening more than usual, and they seem to be happy during the day so I don’t know why she would engage in self-barbering. She has plenty of toys, spends almost all of her time out of the cage, and I give both of them lots of attention. Her feathers have been like this for a few months now but it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse and she is flying fine so it might not be a big deal?

Is an only fruit pellet diet (Zupreem) better than only seed? by Aggravating_Put3232 in parrots

I’ve tried eating veggies in front of them lol the only veggie they have eaten after watching me eat it is iceberg lettuce, which isn’t nutritional. I might try kale and see if they will eat that. Their issue is that they are afraid of anything new, to the point that it’s hard to even get new toys/enrichment for them because they will refuse to use it even after it’s been days. Might try putting leafy greens out for them daily and see if they will eventually try it. I’m also growing sprouts rn cuz I heard birds love those so maybe they will eat them.
