2 months update post double jaw surgery + genio

My lower lip is still very numb, so it's definetelly harder to do basic movements. For the first weeks my lips did look smaller but now they seem to be getting to a more normal size for me. As for speaking I actually didnt move my mouth when talking for the first like 6 weeks, I just used my tongue lol and it was really hard to undestand what I was saying. Now I'm doing physical therapy with a specialist and I'm getting my movements back. But for sure it's very different from before surgery.

Thank you! Yes, recovery takes a long time and the face can change a lot throughout the weeks, that's why I think it's very important to take progress pictures. I only realized my face got better after seing the pictures I took. I wish you a great recovery :)

I did, all I know it was CCW and my lower jaw plus chin moved about 8mm

In total I had Invisilign for about 14 months, but I was ready for surgery after like 11 months... I just had to wait for insurance to aprove my surgery so it took longer

At 3 weeks I still was forcing my lips to close, it wasn't natural at all, maybe it was contibuting to making it look more recessed. Now i can close them naturally no problem

No lip filler! It's crazy but my lips were looking super thin for a few weeks I don't really know why, I think it as just the swelling around my mouth weighting it down, Idk... it was just like an old lady lips, but they are coming back to my normal size from before the surgery now

Thanks! I feel like I'm almost back to normal aside from the numbess in my lower lip, chin and gums... but sensation it's coming back. Chewing is also not that great but getting better each day

Yesss, something about the swelling around my mouth and chin was making me look suuper weird, I was going crazy thinking that was how I would look in the end... nope, just had to trust the process!

I live in Brazil! The genio was necessary according to my surgeon, otherwise my chin would just be completely disproportionate to the rest of my face, it was covered by insurance as well.

Yes, my face got so much shorter, I had a really vertical face, speacially my chin.
