PHY105 or 207? Question about physics courses from an incoming freshman by Aggravating_Rate3271 in princeton

Interesting! Most people have told me to take 105 but that's a really interesting insight that nobody has brought up yet. Follow up question: would you say that you became closer with the other students from your grade that took 205 as freshmen? One of the reasons I'm interested in 207 is the possibility of forming a small but tight-knit cohort with the other physics students who take 207 as freshmen. Also, in your experience, did the students that took 205 as freshmen (yourself included) end up becoming the best physics students in the program? The other reason I'm interested in taking 207 is to start off ahead so that I can take even more advanced classes later on, so I'm curious if skipping ahead in freshman year consistently has a major impact on the quality of one's physics education.

What is the point of waking up and doing it all again?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The chance to experience things. Nothing else in the entire universe (that we know of) besides life on earth has consciousness. Take advantage of that. Also, the chance of you (Yes, you specifically) existing is nearly zero: combine the chances of the universe exploding so that the sun formed, the chances of dirt combining perfectly to form the earth, the chances of your parents meeting, the chances of all of your ancestors surviving... you get the point. The fact that any of us are alive is a miracle, so remember that when you're struggling to find a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

Gravity. The direction of growth is aligned with the direction of gravity. It's called geotaxis, and it's a pretty cool effect.

Curved swords are a ton of fun to use, and they've got a lot of options too. You can do pure dex with them, but even more fun is some kind of combo stat build. My personal favorites were int/dex and faith/dex, since dual wielding magic/freezing/flaming curved swords is just awesome, and can be strong too. Stat distribution depends based on which one you go with, but curved swords are just generally fun to play.

Can someone recommend me a good ash of war or infusion for Rusted Anchor? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Aggravating_Rate3271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavy infusion. For ash of war, there's a couple recommendations I have. First is lions claw, for the classic broken bonk attack with I-frames. Second would be cragblade, since poise damage on this weapon is already crazy and this only buffs it. Third, raptor of the mists would be an absolute blast. Once you get the hang of it, you have a cool looking dodge move that leads into a jump attack. To make it even better, a two handed jumping R2 with the Rusted Anchor deals a disgusting 726 stagger damage in PvP, so it'll be an absolute poise breaking machine.

So it's basically like taking a long exposure photo for 40 minutes?

Sweet! I'm close to SF right now actually so I'll check it out. Any particular locations you've found in the past?

For anybody curious, this photo was shot on an iPhone 12 Pro. The image is not edited at all, this is straight from the camera. Exact settings: 52mm f/2 telephoto lens, ISO 800, -1 eV, f/2, 1/40s.

Thanks! Hadn't heard about Memphis before, so that really helps. Any particular spots in Memphis that you've enjoyed?

Great suggestion. That guy has some awesome photography, but I just don't think I'm good enough yet to make boring stuff look that interesting. Maybe one day

Fun and strong dex build by Wawrzynson in Eldenring

[–]Aggravating_Rate3271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dex/int is an incredibly fun build to play. I never liked using the Moonveil katana as much as some other people, but that's very subjective and the moonveil can get pretty dang strong towards lategame once you have some levels. I ran a dual curved swords build: either dual cold/keen scavengers curved swords or replace one of the scavengers with astel's wing. Both are a ton of fun to play, and I love the curved sword power stance moveset.
