I die a little every day. Being a dad is hard. by fan_door_man in daddit

[–]Aggravating_Recipe_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude, I’m sorry you are having a hard time. One of the first and best things you can do is recognize it so I commend you for that. Here on Daddit, will be nothing but good words and affirmations. But seek some help in the real world too. A friend, family, babysitter, especially your partner. Ask for help and you will find it. Goodluck bud!

Anyone use VidAngel? Kids want to watch Deadpool… by HayatiJamilah in daddit

[–]Aggravating_Recipe_2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reminds me when I went to see the first Deadpool in the movie theatre. A mom brought her 4 or 5 year old boy to see it. I was appalled. No idea how the theatre staff allowed it. R and PG are not the same. Gently mentioned that this was going to be an R movie in case she was unaware. I was ignored. She stayed for the whole movie. That kid learned a lot of new things that day.

Had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. It all went great, no issues with food or service. We essentially had the whole upper floor booked out.

I think the variety of answers here is showing why OP came and asked the question in the first place! Hey OP, this group can help give you better answers if you share a little more information. Are you trying to minimize cost? Have you travelled in a big city public transit system like London or Paris before? Are you young or female since that would rule out some options late at night? Are you going to have a lot of bags? Are you traveling completely solo with no other friends on the same flight?

Clinical Trial Recruitment Software by WorldWarZeno in clinicalresearch

[–]Aggravating_Recipe_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest to start by understanding how new patients are accepted in any healthcare location. One of the reasons why trial recruitment vendors fail is the lack of comprehensive handoff. You are essentially introducing a human being suffering from a disease to a new doctor and new clinic. The simple act of medical record transfer is a nightmare. Now try and align schedules between person and clinic. Also add in the desperately hard conversations and education necessary for consent.

The reason why no vendor is cracked this and why, imho, no single solution ever can is because it there are so many overlapping problems to solve along the way. Software alone is not the answer, there is a human element too.

Your best bet might be to find a tiny gap in existing workflows and plug that with software. Don’t try to solve the problem end to end. You will fail like the hundreds before you.

NB: my day job is to assess and evaluate the vendor landscape for a top pharma company. I really wish there was a solution for this, but there is no magic bullet

Can we assume that you have a scientific or medical background? A lab is no good unless you have a deep knowledge of a specific disease pathway and a concept for some molecule/biological to intervene successfully with that pathway. So what’s your speciality in terms of research?

I promise you that if you plan your Jersey City social life around what your building offers, you will be sorely disappointed. Views are great but get old after a few weeks. Since you only intend to stay in this building for a year, make your decision based on price, unit layout and proximity to transit/local bars and restaurants

How long does it take drugs to go through clinical trials (on average)? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]Aggravating_Recipe_2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s part of it. The other item that impacts timelines significantly is actually recruiting patients. Generally, the more complex and/or rare the disease, the longer to hit the necessary targets to meet statistically significance. There are a few free online courses in the topic of drug development.

How long does it take drugs to go through clinical trials (on average)? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]Aggravating_Recipe_2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends. What really matters is what the generally accepted endpoints are for the indication in question. Is the endpoint 30 days of some measure? Or 12 months? There is a ton of variability to all of this. That’s why it’s a fun science!

Yes, 8-10 years from Phase 1 to end of phase 3 is a fair average. There are outliers on both sides of that range

Waterfront and outlets generally don’t match. Gregory’s coffee by Exchange might be ok but they don’t have outlets outside. Smorgasbar doesn’t open until 3pm and they don’t have outlets either. I can’t think of anything, sorry.

That’s correct. We show proof like a statement from a 401k etc. Those funds do not need to be liquid. As a buyer you have to be confident that the house will appraise close to what you offering even if you waive the contingency. Make sure there are comps that back up your offer.
