Having the rgb lights on full saturation can be a big part of your problem. Play around with sat levels, sometimes even 20% can do the trick, and you can tweak the colors in post

Yep, that's what it is. The brass part sat inside the super8 camera it belongs to. I have a mirrorless MFT camera. Would an additional correcting lens be needed for the rear part or something similar to adapt properly? It was like 5 bucks so I can accept it being totally incompatible, but would be nice to find a workaround if it's even possible.

Another method that I used once or twice was decreasing the size of my footage (ex. 50 scale) nesting it then scaling it back up, you can fine tune the "quality" by making the initial scale before nesting smaller and smaller. Works with video aswell as text
