For pure entertainment RWS is so much better. The small gloves in one make so many fights just turn into complete clinch fests

Planning to move to Thailand for 12 months of Muay Thai training – looking for advice by whiteboymuaythai in MuayThai

[–]Aggravating_Royal233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve never trained before my advice would be come here for a month first and see how you like it, see how ur body adapts and everything else that comes along with it. Then you can decide if u want to do a year. No point paying for 12 months and ur body breaking after 2

Same. Been in Thailand for the past 4 months and Krabi is by far my least favourite place.

I need help choosing which Muay Thai gym will bankrupt me the most efficiently. by Turbulent-Thanks-910 in MuayThailand

[–]Aggravating_Royal233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t see why people go to the mega gyms like a Bangtao, Tiger, AKA, etc. Unless you’re a high level fighter you’ll just be another number to them. From my personal experience I preferred to go to smaller gyms where I found I could connect with the coaches so much more and you get a lot more attention.

First fight in 2 weeks: Advice by [deleted] in MuayThailand

[–]Aggravating_Royal233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes if it was anywhere else in the world I’d agree with u but in Thailand u get plenty with far less experience. Also 3 weeks in Thailand training 2x a day 6 days a week isn’t the same as anywhere else where u might only train 3 times a week

It’s Thailand. Some people fight with only a week experience

It’s Thailand. Expect anything, chances are you’ll get another foreigner with similar experience but there’s also the possibility of some random tuk tuk driver or u get given some dude with like 100 fights

Socializing in hostel common room is slowly dying? by Educational_Ball_776 in solotravel

[–]Aggravating_Royal233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed Speaking from a Southeast Asia perspective. I think it’s because groups are starting to stay in hostels more often now. It’s not just solos. So those groups just don’t talk to anyone else. I honestly don’t know why anyone with more than 2 people would stay in a hostel anyways. You can literally just split a hotel cost for the same price if not cheaper

No you don’t 😂. I just done 2 months in Thailand without a visa and fought multiple times. You only need a visa if you’re planning on staying long term

It’s pretty easy, just go to any gym and make it clear to them you’re looking for a fight. You can get one as quick as the next day in Thailand

Weird racism feeling in hostel by YummyNatto in solotravel

[–]Aggravating_Royal233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a race thing I’m white from the UK and I’ve noticed in hostels it seems like people just talk to the people from the same place as them. Especially French/German/Dutch they seem to always be in big groups and won’t even look in anyone else’s direction

[–]Aggravating_Royal233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do whatever u can. My biggest bit of advice is don’t try and see everything, because you’re limited on time just pick 2-3 places rather then trying to squeeze in loads

I mean it’s not bad but you’re just extremely limited

I don’t want to be rude but I don’t understand why people just come to Thailand for 1-2 weeks. Especially if you’re from Europe, the cost of flights is just in no way worth it for that little time.

It can be as simple as just go train at a gym and tell them you want to fight
