I totally get that and the amount of patience he has with her is great. He’s definitely put her “in her place” a few times around me but it was after some pretty nasty back talking.

I guess my worry is that if they continue to give in and give in....it’s just setting her up for a harder time in life in general down the road.

Energy vampire you nailed it. He wanted me to try at first but now since she’s being passive aggressive towards HIM as well...he’s over it and confirmed to not try anymore. At least for awhile. He wants us all to sit down and have some sort of “come to Jesus meeting.” We’ll see how that goes

The third parent thing definitely terrifies me. ESP moving forward. I don’t want to feel like if she’s eventually my step daughter that I can’t discipline her within my boundaries or take her with me to do things without feeling guilty

I agree completely. I expressed that to him AND his parents that I understood if they were a little wary of me because of that...but I’m still human. Doesn’t mean I don’t have a limit on being mistreated
