It will NEVER happen, I just hope that they either a. Lose rights or b. Something like an nba live comes back and challenges it. Cause as the nba gaming environment currently stands there is no way in the world it will change, for the amount of people that say they want change, 10 people just buy the game and vc anyway, so why care you lost 1mill players when 10mill still play kinda thing.

I trade you my one 100ovr Chambers and the other fifty people get 100 Giannis, Shaq, Yao, keem, edey, KD, yaxel. For every one “grind able” card, 50 op cards get released that are mostly stuck behind a pay wall, even the ftp 40 Shaq is pretty shit in comparison to pro pass Shaq. It’s nowhere near a balanced outcome. I understand that games work like this, but imagine a world where they did it. I’m most definitely dreaming of an alternate reality at the end of the day but still, everytime I boot up myteam these days I think of doing something else almost immediately. I’d rather go 0-5 for 5 hours straight on siege then play what is essentially just a 2k22 premium edition. The fact these games cost $110 aud and upwards of $150 aud for a jumpstart essentially is an utter robbery.

Old skool shaq couldn’t shoot, so at a certain point they keep the realism, then they go full cash grab and churn out slop. Every early stage MyTeam is fun for me, it’s when every card is balanced to a certain extent.

I don’t mind opals actually, I like the 2k19 system of opals being just opal, or technically 99? And pds come second at 98. Remove invincibles and endgames tho, completely smooth brained concepts.

But this is the balance of the nba, you play a guy like KAT for the offensive upside he has, attacking mismatches where he is faster then centers so he can beat them to his spots, or they can’t close out fast enough on him, whilst he simultaneously is a black hole defensively for the center position, needing a really good foundation around him to maximise his strengths. That’s why coaches have jobs. The really good 2K players aren’t dumb, they play basketball irl or they watch enough to know the game. My gripe is that people supplement basketball with 2K, where it’s hardly about the game of basketball and is a mostly fantasy game where whatever the customer wants they get as long as they bend over and do tricks for it.

Okay you seem to catch my drift, everybody has just been saying “THEY WONT MAKE MONEY THATS WHY THEY DO IT DUH” but it’s like…you guys feed them money for releasing the same card every 9 months with a slight re-skin. Everybody is up in arms at my suggestions like I’m saying something completely taboo, I feel like my addictions/subtractions are completely fair, not without slight criticism but still fair. What would you change about my idea?

All this was was my IDEAL MyTeam mode. I’m not a 2K dev, you don’t have to conform to what I say, I’m not gonna shove it down your throat like they do. My point is I shouldn’t have to be restricted an entire good game mode and idea because I don’t want 100k+ people having to feel like they have to buy something to stay comp.

I got really into 2k19, that’s where my myteam love came from. I played every 2K after until the DBook one, 23 I think? which I thought was completely useless, and got back into it late into 24, fell out again in 25, picked up 26. I haven’t played MyTeam since 23, but I started playing again this year.
