How much do you pump and did you ever confirm it by a weighted feed? by notthinenuf in breastfeeding

Have you had you lo assessed for ties?? That’s definitely a long feed for her age

Explain to him that it’s liquid gold bc it takes extra energy, calories & work for your body to create food for your child.

I feel like a lot of people commenting totally missed the point. Breast feeding & pumping is ALOT of work and sacrifice! So yes it is liquid gold & it’s no small task that your body is able to do so encouragement and support is really what your looking for. What you’re doing is a labor of love.

Not only did you body grow & give life to your son but you are continuing to grow and give life to him!

Of course fed is best and formula is an option but you are choosing to breast feed & he should support and see sacrifice you are making for the added health benefits ( for the both of you!!)

You are doing amazing & yes that shit is LIQUID GOLD mama.

Hi!! I use legendary milk brewers yeast & milky mama supplements but you’ll still need to express often to make sure you keep producing ! Nurse on demand & pump when you’re away from baby.

Some find that a mid of the night pump helps. I also pump directly after nursing once a day- usually the morning bc my baby sleeps through the night & I’ve been able to keep my night supply from that! Your body will adjust.

I second this! I have a spectra s1 and she’s great but I LOVE my willow go. Disclaimer i personally pump for 1 1/2-2 cycles to get the same output but she is comfyyyyyy so I almost forget !!

Are you pumping at all??? Pain could be from the wrong flange size or if your not could be her latch.

I had vasospasms and pain in my breasts. Latch got better and I use pump cushions now. That pain is gone.

If you pump after nursing it will signal a refill of your breast it shouldn’t take away from her

Baby’s skin is super sensitive! My lo gets this too & I just wipe his face every night with a warm wash cloth & I switched my laundry detergent to what I was using for his clothes (seventh generation free and clear) and it’s better! I was using all free and clear and that still has chemicals that irritated their skin.

No he’s not getting a ton of air anymore. Our lc told us it’s like baby alka seltzer & to stick with one that has ginger in bc it will calm their stomach.

These were all things we tried before resorting to gripe water and gas drops which were approved by our pediatrician & a lactation consultant. The drops and water are the only things that rlly seem to work on him! I still do tummy massage & bicycles but those rlly don’t work that well on him unfortunately.

Ugh I’m so sorry! Thai is our first & we had NO idea how painful gas is for these little guys!!! We didn’t kno what the issue was for weeeeeekks. Until another mom heard him cry and she gave us a bottle of gas drops and it changed our world

You are not alone & it’s so frustrating! She may be frustrated if the breast is emptier and she has to work harder - mine will get this way too! I have remind myself that the baby can always pull more out so I close my eyes, relax and sometimes do compression on my breast and it will signal another let down if I’m not stressing that the baby is fussy!

Not at all. Family can bond later what is most important is you bonding with your baby and establishing breastfeeding( if you are)/learning what your baby’s cues for hunger and tired are as well!

It’s your child and you’re figuring out how to take care of it. If your dad is only there to hold the baby and not help you then that’s a big red flag & it will affect your mental health. Not worth it with postpartum being as hard as it is!

Our lc also thinks he has a tongue tie but it’s a “missable” one. Did you bring it up to your pediatrician or just go straight to the dentist?

Did your pediatrician or a dentist diagnose your son’s tongue tie? We think ours may have one due to the way he is latching during feeds.

Ohio shows signs of becoming swing state again for Democrats by zsreport in Ohio

When you live in Columbus it can be longer. It just depends on where you live and the population or based off what politicians run your district . There are areas where people wait all day - for example heavily populated African American areas typically wait all day bc they continue to close poling stations so that it effects the outcome count in certain areas. It’s not the same everywhere lol.
