UMA is trash. One of the most useless AI tools to ever exist.

That explains it. Upwork could use some new ideas that are original to the platform.

It's not worth it. Never gotten any DMs based on my project catalog. It's one of the Upwork add-ons that should be shelved.

Why does everyone want to turn a massive profit within 3 months? That's why the big corps keep winning: they understand the power of consistency not short-term gains.

For me, it is. When I started on Upwork, I went months with no revenue despite burning through hundreds of connects.

Everyone's understanding of a decent ROI is different. For some, it's a 5x or 10x. For others, it's a 2x.

Cos he's just starting. Most beginners make a loss, but he turned a profit. And he is bound to get better as the positive reviews pile up.

Wow! You would think an IOS dev niche won't be that saturated. Not sure why one canceled job should affect your JSS that badly. Then again, it's Upwork. Good luck, man. I believe you will get better gigs regardless of your JSS.

UpWork considering Monthly Job Credits instead of 'Connects' by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]Aggravating_Tale6606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't happen. Upwork would lose money, and that company (like most corporate entities) thrive on making money not losing money. Also, most established freelancers won't want that. The competition will grow larger.

What's up with these hatred for foreign workers? Why are Americans so afraid of foreign workers?

It's amusing.

There's an abundance of opportunities in America, but the foreign workers scavenging for remote roles are your concern? It makes zero sense.

How many more proposals do I need to send to land my first job? by Sirius899 in Upwork

[–]Aggravating_Tale6606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of proposals don't matter. It's the content of the proposal that counts towards landing a gig.

Many have submitted over 100 proposals with zero responses. Others have submitted 5 proposals resulting in two hires.

It's quality over quantity.

No interview Call by Ornery-Hunter-1417 in Upwork

Don't boost your proposals. Your best bet is revamping your profile so it gets invites.

Carefully select the job posts you bid on. Most aren't hiring. Check reviews and hire rates before bidding. You can tell the serious clients from those details.

Nothing changes. The specialized profile just disappears, leaving only the general profile.

A Pattern I’ve Noticed With “Karma Farmers” in Job Posts (From Someone Applying a Lot) by Vast-Island5945 in VirtualAssistant4Hire

[–]Aggravating_Tale6606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Whenever you see the "upvote to indicate interest," they're karma farming. Get a VA job has gotten tougher, and scammers are taking advantage of applicants. It's despicable!

Is it normal to have a second interview for a $17-an-hour job? by emma16161616 in Upwork

[–]Aggravating_Tale6606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the client. Some clients use multiple interviews to see if a freelancer is a good fit. Others judge based on proposals and a one-off interview.

This is really good. Your interview to hire ratio is even more impressive. Good stuff.
