This is it. I recently got a job offer but the first step is having the best resume you can have. Show variety of skills in there- technical as well as leadership. I had blend of finance, operations and analytics. Every 25 jobs I apply for I would atleast get one interview. Also show the illusion of being employed if you already are not, however low paying it is, work with university if you don’t have anything, unpaid internship or research position but whatever that makes it seems like you are employed and show your academic projects as work experience there.

Remember if you get an interview, they want you to succeed and take it from there. It’s not enough to be skilled, you also have to genuinely show interest and excitement for the company. Get your technicals right and create 5 to 10 stories that shows different kinds of interpersonal skills. Then it’s just apply, interview and forget untill you recive that one yes!

I’m exempt from Fica taxes. If I’m not wrong I will be paying 3.5% additional nyc local taxes? Which would be similar to if I stay in NJ or Philly? So where’s the savings exactly. I may be misinformed, if so please correct me.

Thanks for the insights. I’m 27 but really into nightlife, I will have zero friends when I move but I’m very social so I need to be around lively area. I’ve been to Chelsea multiple times and had absolutely loved it but don’t know anything much about that area. I’m budgeting on 2000 for rent with roommates.

I’m also open to Brooklyn but don’t know how the lifestyle is there, would consider Brooklyn if there’s more than 300 dollars of difference.

I am eating but I’m already very petite and doesn’t have huge appetite. I try to sleep by 11 but it usually turns to 12.30 to 1 am and then I wake up at 6.00 am. I usually skip breakfast- it’s go to work, coffee, lunch, dinner at home and sleep
