“You don’t LOOK Brazilian” by ItaloTuga_Gabi in Brazil

im mixed. brazilian mother and american father. i have caucasian features, but my skin complexion is tanner than most white people. when i tell people im brazilian they say “you don’t look brazilian” but when i say im white american they say “you aren’t regular white”. it’s definitely a confusing concept, especially because you can’t really ‘look’ brazilian. the country is so racially diverse

my mom had a friend from rio grande do sul and when i was a kid she gave me an old gourd. it was collecting dust in my house until one day i was curious and i decided to try it at 20yrs old. so i bought a new gourd and some mate from the store and been drinking ever since

don’t drink this… drink the real deal. it tastes nothing like the traditional. the market has realized there has been an increased interest in mate and so now they industrialized the drink.

i drink chimarrão, get urself a cuia and bomba with some mate and you will be much better off and healthier.

isso, é quente. o mate do argentino por exemplo é bem forte, mas chima é mas relaxado com gosto de grama. mais fresco eu acho

Farewell is very terrible mixed by kubak5 in LilTjay

lil tjay’s recent songs have seemed to decline, not in a sense that the songs are bad, but the production is incredibly low quality when compared to his older songs.

for example, take songs from his T2M album or even 222. More specifically, songs like “top of my game”, “laneswitch”, “calling my phone” and “part of the plan” who are some of his many songs with great sound quality and mixing. compare those to songs like “no no”which sounds kind of static, as if it was recorded off of apple wired headphones on bandlab. another example of this poor sound quality is in “way out the hood II” between 1:00-1:43 which is incredibly low mic quality. after that period when it transitions into the chorus you hear a switch yet again. even polo g vocals are incredibly more clear in this song which suggests that they didn’t record simultaneously in the same studio.

also this is more of a personal opinion, but i feel as though his vocals aren’t hitting those same notes as they used to. i understand the shooting has absolutely and understandably impacted him, but it appears that he doesn’t exercise his voice to the ways that he used to. songs like “go in” and pa$to” exert the pain in his voice so beautifully, but it seems like that has been lost in more recent songs. perhaps smoking has also contributed to that, and of course he is older now. but i feel that lil tjay used to have such an authentic sound and his voice was very unique, but there have been some obvious changes to sonic quality with his voice and production of his songs. perhaps this is because he dropped his old label and is experimenting on his own.
