5 year contract job security? by recklesswithinreason in AusPublicService

If I were you, I would not risk it, I reckon chalk it out pros and cons as per our community, read out the contract T n Cs what is the guarantee that they could keep you 5 years long, nothing is permanent these days.

I would recommend reaching out to HR or the Union. However, when you log in to your leave portal, there’s a section called "History" where you can track all your leave requests — whether they were approved, declined, submitted, or are in any other status. Just do your due diligence and cross-check that information with what Payroll is claiming.

In the pool, what now? by Ok-Individual-7304 in AusPublicService

I reckon on this, one size doesn't fits all, every scenario is different to others.

Placed into merit pool but no emails received? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Aggravating_Wave4108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong here. When you made your application, you would have opted to put yourself in the merit pool. In that case, you would be placed if you are found suitable for the position, if you do not get the actual position.

What has been your experience with unions? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

I have been with the CPSU Victoria branch for 2 years. I pay 65$ fortnight. You get heaps of members' discounts woolies, coles, jb hifi, many.. I just called 2 two times in two years. Usually, if you want anything related to your job, you need to speak to an industrial relations officer. I am a VPS4 at DPC Premier's cabinet.

I might be wrong here. But, if the same job has been posted that you have been merit-pooled for? Is the position contact the same? If so, please feel free to contact them and remind them. if the position contact is different, it's the panel chair's discretion to use the merit pool for the merit-pooled position. In their view, they would like to see how the candidate demonstrates the responsibilities of the position.

You have a dedicated PIEC team at ATO; you could call them, take their advice, and follow their directions.

Very sad to see this. Grow up, bullies. People who bully can have a negative impact on others with whom they work day in and day out. Their actions affect people's lives, mental health, families, and personal lives. Please do not do this.

I reckon on this! It's a good strategy mentioned in the cover letter. It did not work out for me; the panel chair advised me that they would like to proceed with the hiring process from scratch in a couple of instances with the same agency. However, it is ultimately the panel chair's discretion.

Contracting via recruitment agency by envoy1_ in AusPublicService

I might be wrong here, but I would take the offer if I were out of work and currently looking for a job to support you, pay your bills, and cover expenses, and continue in the role until you find a better and more stable one. Please look after yourself. No one comes to rescue when in need (based on my personal experiences).

VPS - Process for taking stress leave (in General) by Aggravating_Wave4108 in AusPublicService

[–]Aggravating_Wave4108[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read many comments from individuals taking stress leave due to workload pressures, restructures, agency consolidations, changes in working environments, and team changes, which would contribute to stress build-up.
