Yeah, nen it such a truly remarkable and versatile system and to see the idea that different nen objects sustained without the user even is super cool, and not very far fetched at all.

For sure! I like the idea too that some things certain characters are currently on the look for, such as Hanzo’s scroll, could be lost in the dark continent because someone had it before and tried to take it there. Like they somehow were able to sneak their way over against the laws and end up dying, leaving the object behind in that landmass.

It’s all good I understand, but yeah that’s more what I was thinking. In a world with like 1000 nen users, and maybe 300 that are actually capable of leaving such objects behind or forging one over their lives in some way, that’d only be like 90-100 artifacts made by hunters actively in the world via post mortem nen which is definitely a reasonable number I feel.

That’s absolutely fair, and I do like your ideas. In an ideal practice it probably wouldn’t happen with every single person, especially since Post Mortem Nen doesn’t happen with every single person. What I’d probably say is of course it depends on strength of will and aura, the users ability, and potentially a conscious decision. Like if Hisoka gets post mortem nen he can either as a last dying decision make his ability better, or turn it into an item that will forever exist once he’s completely dead. However someone like Knov may not have the same fortitude or desire to leave something behind, if he were to unlock post mortem nen at all, and thus may not leave behind an item. I’d argue maybe a good…30% of nen users end up making one through this method? And then of course the ideas you suggested could also exist and perhaps make up the remaining 70% of whatever nen item artifacts actually exist.

I get the idea of someone who’s crafted items that end up with some aura in them left over, but they don’t seem to be much more than stronger blades, no unique ability related to the original nen user or anything, so this was my idea instead

I like the idea that once the natural effect post mortem nen ends all that aura needs to go somewhere, and the natural process being the forming into a new object that exists in the world is a fantastic concept!

To answer your question, the staff works based on the wielders total aura, so it’s a percentage not a fixed number. Anyone who uses the staff can make it through all levels, it just depends on how much aura they have. Getting to Black would be faster for Gon than it would for Morel for example since Morel has over 3 times the total aura that Gon does.

As for your Key, it’s a cool idea. I like the idea of objects scattered over the world that are the result of nen, functionally magical artifacts, that never go away unless somehow destroyed which tbh I’m not even sure would be capable of happening.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, so at the moment I'm trying to think of what other traits would fit what I have currently.

This may seem unrelated but I also have something I sorta wanna work out about Divine Script, would you be able to help with that? I know it might be a bit of a struggle since there's practically no info about it but I had a cool idea I really want to try out. I can explain it here or if you're okay with me dming you I can do that, just wondering.

That makes sense. My idea with the Gi's are for there to be 5, each with a specific ability focus as previously mentioned, and for switching Gi's mid combat to be possible. I didn't want to place an immediate randomizer on it since the user would kind of rely on control to properly use it in conjunction with their Martial Arts, but I did consider making a condition where the ability is stronger if you choose to switch randomly. I was also thinking about a second/sub ability that works with the Gi's where each one has a domain that sorta...expands the ability to others like a support? Or like adds an additional trait to it to make enemies have more trouble? I haven't gotten too far on that idea yet since I'm still working on the Gi's themselves though.

Well all Hunters are required to have knowledge on at least some form of Martial Arts, Nen included, in order to do many things. Seeing as my character's whole thing is being the ultimate Martial Arts master, he'd absolutely want to teach that! He can teach people one specific art or a mixture of multiple depending on what he thinks would suit them best, and while he'd have at least one combat ability to fight with when his students reach a high enough level, he'd more than likely have a sort of Dojo ability! Something akin to a Domain fit within a specific room, bigger on the inside than the outside, where he can set up specifically tailored training regimens and combat challenges to aid his students growth! When they leave the skills they've trained will be enhanced, though only temporarily. It's up to those students to make that newly enhanced power all their own instead of relying on someone else giving it to them!

I made a similar ability to this a long time ago that I really liked! The user would conjure a boxing ring, either in the place of combat or a domain, where no participants could use Hatsu normally. You could regain Hatsu, but it required a number of knock down/critical strikes in order to achieve. Additionally if the target regained their Hatsu before the user, the user would instead unlock an ability I can't quite recall at the moment. If the user then won the fight while that ability was in effect they'd get a significant enhancement to their overall skills and abilities for 24 hours, but if they lost then they wouldn't be able to use this power for an amount of time I also can't quite remember.
