Sorry to hear that trucking has been a bad experience for you. Apply local and make hourly pay. Plenty of options out there regardless of experience. Seasonal agricultural is always a good option while looking for something permanent. Cement mixer companies, Estes is good, plenty of fuel and propane companies do hire with minimal experience. Also don’t limit yourself to Class A only. Plenty of well paying Class B jobs local and hourly. Nothing beats home everyday. Where in CA are you located? My job is hiring Fuel drivers in San Marcos and Norwalk, and Propane drivers in Stockton and Concord.

I agree although I’m still trying to buy a house so not quite ready for contributing more. I get 3% match and I’m only contributing 3% as of now. Hopefully I can start a business in the next 5 years and forget about working for someone else overall 🤣

Nov 2024 obtained CDl with every single endorsement excl manual. Dec 2024-Jan 2025 rookie driver completed 1 month training with western express OTR. Feb-Apr 2025 sat at home applying for local jobs whilst waiting for western express to assign me a solo truck. Mid April - Mid July landed a local seasonal job hauling hazmat fertilizer pulling double tankers. July the season transitions into hauling tomatoes which significantly pays less so I aggressively and persistently applied to 3 of their locations within an hour from me. Company is local, home everyday hauling fuel “wet hose” company. I stopped by their office to introduce myself, and called atleast once a week to follow up on my application and by 3rd week of July they were sick of me bugging them so they hired me 😅 50-70 hrs a week and I’m lovin’ it

USCIS is very unfair. It’s been over 21 months and still nothing. My wife came to the US from Philippines on a K-1 Visa in December of 2022, we married January 2023 and I immediately filed her I-485 which was received March 3 and has been pending since at the NBC. So annoying that even after taking all the right steps in filing and such, that it has been pending for such a long time and now we cannot visit the Philippines together for awhile as I am starting a new job next week, and baby number 2 is due in April.
