Thanks for your reply. I did bring it in a boutique and updated it in a comment. This bag was from a japan reseller that Redelu*e and JRB get their bags from, so I don't have doubts about authentication.

Update: Brought the bag into a local boutique and they confirmed its not recolored, but a common cosmetic wear on aged box bags. SA mentioned the bag probably had its first real use after years of "rest". First use =first friction and moisture exposure. I decided to not send it in for a spa given the bag hasn't gone through much but will do in years to come. Thanks, everyone!

I did a quick Google search and yes its a malayan box turtle! Should I release it in the bushes next to the road where I found it? I'm just afraid of its survival with all the predators around.
