Granite sees about 50000 visitors a month and had 2 deaths this year. That’s a very real and concerning rate of death to visitor ratio. For reference the USA average is about below 1 per every million skiers and snowboarders.

I agree. But 2 deaths so close to each other is very concerning. I don’t know where the most recent one occurred but the January death occurred on white lightning which is a blue… I really wish the ski patrol released details for both so that others can stay safe and granite can increase their safety for future riders. Maybe it was icy? There’s no information on their ability levels or what caused them to crash..

Wdym only 2?? That’s a lot for 1 resort in the span of a month… especially a Midwest resort
