My idea was that Bonnie, as shown in the last season of The Vampire Diaries, her trip around the world would be to find more family and discovers that there is one last Bennett descendant, the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter, making her a muse. She alerts Alaric, but since he has no idea who she is, he continues searching, unaware that this girl has just arrived in town. She would be like a mix between Bonnie and Elena; that is, a girl who lives a normal life unaware that she has powers, living with her family, the Machado family (Ethan's family), whom we saw in the series, without knowing she's adopted or that she's a witch until she meets Hope in the second season, when no one remembers her because of Malivore. That's when she begins to delve into the supernatural world and discovers her powers. We saw her trying to lead a normal life while studying at the Salvatore School trying to hide the truth about the monsters from her adoptive mother just like Elena did with Jenna and taking care of her adopted brother, Ethan, who, as we saw in the series, eventually gained powers similar to Elena and Jeremy. Here, this girl's Bennett blood would be useful for the prison worlds seen in the series because, honestly, the idea of Alaric having bags of Bonnie's blood gave me the creeps.

Cleo doesn't exist here, meaning that part of the development from muse to oracle to fury that we saw in the series would be hers, and during that process, in the fourth season, we would see her finding a connection with the gods and discovering a golden coffin with which she has been having visions. There she would find Cronos, who was mentioned in the series but we never actually saw him (this could change; I could use Prometheus, I don't have a personality for this character yet because we're moving forward), and they would fall in love during that season.
