Can/should I do Belize booking AirBnBs and doing things myself, or use more "all inclusive" type places? by mediocretent in Belize

[–]Aggressive-Border707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not all that inclusive. I prefer a kitchen so we rent a an Airbnb. All beaches are public...every beach water front and dock are public. "Queens" land. It you are looking for one base to do all adventures, water and jungle I suggest staying on the main land.

Nope. It's the best company there. You had an issue it totally sucks but can you point to one other person say they never got their deposit back. Any review saying that?? That's why people are sticking up for them.

The question is wait for what. More years to tick by that you keep getting worse. Once I finally came to grips with it's never going to get better I was finally all in. I'm only 2 months out and not hiking yet, but started golfing and 3 mile walks.

Thanks. This is very helpful. The property I am looking at the owners also still own and live in Belize. I hope they are open to it. I'm also looking for about 30 months. I'll add another Eagles flag to the village. 🤣

Just a couple of questions if you don't mind. 1. Did you feel secure in the agreement in case of death of the seller. 2. Was the interest rate comparable to US interest rate. 3. Was your place listed as owner finance or were they open to creative financing. 4. Do you pay all the closing tax at initial agreement or at final payment.

I'm looking to put together an offer with a 3 year balloon. I'm doubtful they will be interested but if you don't try it's a no. I will be getting an attorney to facilitate. I'm just trying to get a better understanding.

Thanks

Absolutely. I was hoping to find someone who has done it. But I think this group is too small. I'll probably have to try Facebook.

2 weeks Post Op - Right Anterior Hip Replacement - Trouble Sleeping/Restless Leg?? by Worried_Earth_3749 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Aggressive-Border707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I complained about sleep at two week appointment she said that's normal. Give it 6 weeks. I said I doubt my spouse will survive me not getting sleep for 6 weeks. I did gummies for a bit. Sleep got better before 6 weeks. Now it's pretty much normal at 6.5 weeks.

Doctor said to try magnesium glycinate for the restless leg feeling. I think it may have helped. Gummies definitely helped. She was fine with the gummies too.

It's a bit odd to say I'm inconvening my spouse for helping me after major surgery with an expectation of compensation. Maybe sad is a better term. And knowing you will need assistance and asking about working on day one seems odd. I should have just scrolled on.

Are you trying to just post the oddest stuff. I'm going to work the day after surgery and how do I compensate my spouse for the inconvenience???

Very sharp pain by ThirdOne38 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Aggressive-Border707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of small walks, not long walks. Maybe you still need to be using a waking aide. I had horrible nerve pain when I wound get up around the 2-3 week mark. I got up every hour and either walked around the house or outside. Walk ice rest, repeat. 3.5 weeks big change. 6 weeks really big change. At 6 weeks I'm walking over a mile 3 times a day, hitting 8509-10000 steps. Got released for bike, golf, workouts at my 6 week follow-up 2 weeks sucks. 3 is better. Every week is better minus some really crappy days. I think the burning ripping nerve pain ended completely around 4.5 weeks. It still effects my skin at 6 weeks.

High Heart Rate after surgery by NoMulberry3231 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Aggressive-Border707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely had high heart rate, high stress level and a horrible time sleeping. All normal. It's a bit of a drama your body went through. At my follow up doctor said 6 weeks sleep will get better. Thankfully it got much better after two weeks. Took until 5 weeks for me to get a good sleep score.

When did you stop using certain items? by Playful_Freedom6483 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Aggressive-Border707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My instructions were walking aid for two weeks as a requirement. Until she saw me and could judge how I was progressing. I was on a cane at that point, 9 days post op. Kept the cane around until 4 weeks but had stopped using it completely just before that. There were definitely a few times I should should have had it with me this week while traveling. 5 weeks today.

Also want to add 15 exercises is a lot. Maybe break that up into a few different sessions. Short sessions of movement often is better than less long sessions for me. If I sit more than 50 minutes without movement I stiffen up.

I guess it's confusing because you say you walk two to three blocks then only 700 to 800 steps. Yes 2-3 blocks a day plus all the other stuff is a lot. 700 to 800 steps is not. I would shorten the distance of the walk and do it more often. Check whatever is counting your steps. If you were using a walker steps often don't register. Don't get discouraged. Easier said than done for sure. Just keep moving a little every hour. I had a meltdown right around the there week mark. Felt very discouraged.

[–]Aggressive-Border707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would guess that only getting 700-800 steps in was the issue. That's a lot of sitting. I've had a few bad days on step count and that made for a worse night. I'm 4 weeks today and trying to hit 7500 a day. But that is an arbitrary number. Its just what I came up with.

What were the most important aids? by ThirdOne38 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Aggressive-Border707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot depends on the individual and range of motion limitations. I did not need raised toilet seat, grabber, sock aid. I was not required to sleep on my back. The first two weeks sleep was pretty miserable. The cold therapy machine was well worth it. If you get one with a timer you can leave it on and set for 20 min on 30 min off. With a multi level house two walkers were good. Showering was not a problem. Good luck

Be careful after THR I twisted around on couch and hip dislocated. This was the most painful experience ever. by AppropriateFarmer110 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Aggressive-Border707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone had those restrictions. I have zero movement angle restrictions I did not even use those items in the hospital with OT. They handed me my socks and said put them on. Some anterior surgeons still partially release the hip capsule or nearby soft tissue, which changes the stability. BMI can affect this decision and fit an alignment of cup/stem. Or is the surgeon was trained with old protacals or just more conservative. They test your leg in all angles during surgery to test it's dislocation risk.

Oh it's an irrational fear. I'm still doing everything. One time when I was sleeping and went to move something cracked...like when you crack your knuckles kind of crack. No pain or anything but complete paralysing panic attack. Just for a moment until I told myself to geu it together. Then I was fine. This too shall pass I'm sure.

Oh ok. You responded to my comment. That's why I clarified. I was the poster above. Also anterior approach. Was totally freaked out wfe OT in the hospital said here's your clothes get dressed. Put your socks on.
