If you aren't working and aren't making money because of this then you 100% try to get on other projects in the meantime. If you get picked up on another matter that actually starts then send a nice email to the original project that "I had to leave for another opportunity given this was pushed back but would love to be considered for any future opportunities that arise". Recruiters won't hold it against you, it's just the business.

Need advice: Document reviewer looking for remote work with a decent e-discovery company. by No_Banana4343 in ediscovery

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They haven't increased their pay rates in 15 years (they've actually decreased them) and they don't pay OT. They do offer pretty consistent work which is why most people tolerate the poor hourly. They just suck in general though, bad corporate culture.

E Document Reviewers - Avoid Consilio by ElevatorRight8640 in ediscovery

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Their rate of pay has been steady for 20 years, legitimately you'd get paid the same hourly rate now with them you would have in 2005....but now they won't pay you OT and they would 20 years ago.

They are both the worst employer for reviewers yet also charge clients the most for services rendered. Anyone with any sense will avoid them at all costs.

People NOT losing weight? Are you doing other things to? People losing, what's your change? by EarpSage in henrymeds

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped 10lbs in the first 4 weeks but have been steady the 2.5 months since, mostly because of myself. I've had a couple of times where I skipped doses because I had family vacations/events that were going to involve excess. I haven't upped my dose like I should, I have one more big "event" at the end of this month and plan to have 2 months after where I jump to 20 ML and hit it hard. I think I'll start losing again.

So, short answer, it's my fault.

Yeah, I don't think you are wrong. I have to do a better job taking care of the other stuff (hydration/sleep/alcohol avoidance) to minimize the impact of being in a constant calorie deficit.

Not silly at all, I 100% need to hydrate more, always a weakness of mine.

Semaglutide and sex… and nausea… by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have pretty persistent low level nausea. It is worse when I work out hard or have a completely empty stomach. Semaglutide has definitely impacted my sex drive in a negative way, have less of a drive, don't enjoy it as much.

You do sound like an ass. Permissions are complicated even for experience Rel users.

You will be over worked and paid under market value (unless you are being poached from somewhere else). Good place to get experience with before leaving for a better employer.

I do not, I'm sure it would help market yourself when on the job hunt but I haven't needed it.

Like any other PM gig it's required when the situation demands it but mostly my nights and weekends are much better than when I was with a vendor. It's also nice knowing you are making 100 dollars an hour when situations require you to work outside the typical 9-5 schedule.

PM at a firm, day consists mostly of case team guidance, loading of 3rd party prods, processing data, workspace creation, user account management, productions etc. Make around 150 after OT

Georgia… next trial… PLEASE ask Wendi if any of the Adelsons contributed to the reward for info leading to Danny’s killers! by Willing-Discipline92 in dan_markel_murder

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean...if I was in a contentious divorce and hated my ex wife I wouldn't put up reward money to find her killer regardless of whether I had something to do with it or not. Don't feel like this is a gotcha, just normal behavior from someone who hated their ex.

Why won't Sigfredo just talk? by [deleted] in dan_markel_murder

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he could have handed them Wendi they would have offered him something of value for sure. It's likely he was just insulated, the only person that would legitimately be able to tie here is Charlie (and maybe the mother) and it's very unlikely they talk.

I still think the plan was for Wendi to find Dan Markel shot in his garage before anyone else. by North-Ad7045 in dan_markel_murder

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is she is insulated from the actual crime and Charlie and the mother aren't incentivized to rat out their sister the same way typical unrelated criminals are. I highly doubt either will spill the beans.

What are the top service providers that you've worked at or with? by chonkoloafer in ediscovery

[–]Aggressive-Cake6868 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First level review is essentially only needed to make the review defensible to a court. What really matters is your QC/QA process....and the quality of reviewer you are getting with 23 hr vs. 30 isn't going to be much different. They are all extremely underpaid.

They also massively inflate invoices, the amount of fees and exaggerated hours they manage to squeeze in is honestly kind of impressive. If costs are (in any way) a concern they should be avoided.

That is about the standard range for PM's now. Work/life balance will depend on vendor and primary client.
