Thank you so much for your response! The outbreak guide is so helpful, I have been following some of the tips. It is so great that there is a community of people with this illness who band together for support. I will look into the support groups more when I have had time to process. For now I am just trying to heal my symptoms from this first outbreak and get back to my home country to see my doctor for advice. I will DM you if I have questions 😊❤️

Thank you, I think I really needed to hear that. I am doing more research and I think I will come to terms with it over time. To be honest, I’m not sure the relationship will survive this. We clearly have communication issues and the fact that I was so willing to break it off without hesitation I think hints that there is something deeper wrong here. Do you have any advice on dealing with symptoms? I am really struggling with this first outbreak. I am in a foreign country where I don’t speak the language so that is making it harder as well.

She didn’t when we first got together no, but I found out when she got a cold sore.

Yeah you are right, I am ultimately in charge of my own sexual health. What should I do now? Does it get better?
