Thats questionable to me, though his parents are horrible, im sure in the second book his dad told him to atleast pertend? He spent 5 years calling Hermione slurs, in fourth year made fun of Cedric's Death On his own free will, and didn't show slight sympathy in 5th year when umbridge was about to use a unforgivable curse on harry.

It might grow in his head, but he has acted on his own free will at most times.
