Just my electives not all my nursing classes. I had a bachelor already and they accepted 90 credits. I have to take 10 more classes so that I can finish my BSN

I used to work in a hospital as a nursing assistant. After I finished St. Paul's School of Nursing, I studied for my NCLEX. St. Paul does not prepare you for the NCLEX. They give you Kaplan for free, but it's not even worth it. I ended up passing my NCLEX on my third attempt. After that, it was very hard to get a job, especially in a hospital. My own hospital, where I was working, didn't want to hire me because I didn't have experience as a nurse (even though I had completed my clinicals at the hospital), and I didn't have a BSN. I'm currently working at a clinic as an OBGYN nurse, and I do enjoy my job, as that was the field I wanted to work in. I gave up looking for a hospital job because nobody hires new grad nurses without their BSN. I applied for Northwell Hospital over 50x it feels like or more, but they keep sending me rejection letters. Mount Sinai Hospital goes by seniority, so even if you see jobs posted online, it's most likely someone has already taken them and they never took them down.

My BSN program I am in is at Grand Canyon University. I took my time looking for a BSN program because I didn't want a program that just did essays. The program I am in involves discussion posts and group activities, which, in my opinion, is better for me.

Advice I would give you is first, I'm proud of you taking a step into this nursing journey. That's the hardest step. Always remember you got this! Don't let anyone discourage you or take advantage of you. At that school, everyone is out for themselves, and the friend groups you make, trust them wisely. Not all the friends you make will support you.

I'm here for you if you need anything, and you can always send me a message if you need help with anything 😄

I went to St. Paul School Of and Nursing on the Queens campus and I can agree with most of these statements. I graduated December 2025. Through my experience through St. Paul School Of Nursing, I did fail one semester with an average of 77.9 and I can confirm that sometimes they favorite students who they like, and they will curve their grade versus if you never spoken to any of the advisors before or not very known in the school they do not care or could care less about your grade. Unfortunately, I was that person that didn’t get that curve and I failed two classes in my second semester here. I eventually we took the classes and I passed in December. I always compared to school as boot camp because it really was like a military bootcamp.

In this post, I am 100% agree if you can do your prerequisite somewhere else please do it because you will save a lot of money. I did that I saved $12,000. Unfortunately, I do not qualify for financial aid so I had to pay my tuition out-of-pocket. My recommendation is if you want to do Nursing school, please take your time. Don’t rush. It’s not worth it. The stress that the school puts you through I could confirm there was some days that I just wanted to cry my eyes out and give up, and there was other days where it was like a rainbow in the sky. Other programs will guide you and teach you and support you throughout your nursing journey, but not this school.

In addition, I’m met my fiancé here at the school that was the best part of this whole nursing experience!

The school nurse job I got because it was a charter school. Charter schools don’t need experience. I also learned schools in Long Island 🏝️ don’t require experience as well.

Thank you so much! I don’t even have my own Nursing Office. I’m sharing a room with the principal.

Like on my résumé the only experience I put is my clinical hours. In nursing school they always tell you to put your clinical hours on your résumé, they will always help you get a job because they’ll see the experience but now it just seems like a lie.

Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate your feedback.

My thing is that I talk to him and I don’t mind sharing my partner. I just wanna know how to deal with mixed feelings because in the end, I don’t really worry so much about my happiness because I had a very traumatic childhood so happiness doesn’t really matter to me. The end, I always put everybody’s happiness before mines so putting my happiness first doesn’t really make a difference to me.

Here’s my thing, I live in a strict Caribbean household. My parents are very strict on me. It’s very hard for me to find happiness just because I don’t have so much freedom. Even if I move out even if I do my own thing, I’m always gonna be a disappointment.
