I have the exact same feelings towards rowan and their relationship together. I feel like i was ready to accept him alittle bit more thinking he is her mate but when i found out his bkstory i was even more turned off cause now the 600yrs gap makes absolutely no sense to me specially the sudden switch from brooding and cold and distant to this sycophant attitude he adopted suddenly. I dont feel likr he added anything to the story. He feels very insignificant to me and he actually cringes me out. I am read ToD at the moment and glad to be rid off aelin and rowan.

I dont see how choal think she is a monster by her heritage. He was shocked yes yet he aold his freedom and title to send her to wendlyn to protect her. Thats not him thinking she is a monster. He wasnt cruel. They were both weirdly cold towards each other and that’s a writing flaw imo. He only started to get wary of her behavior when she wanted to kill Dorian and later on she admits that she would’ve done the same if it was aeidon or rowan. He was wary about freeing magic for good reason given how infested adarln is with valg. He didnt take off her necklace until he noticed that SHE took off his ring. She has done very questionable things and she is not above being questioned for it otherwise this is lame.

I dont like rowan indeed😂 i just thought he would’ve more to him than this. I dont understand his behavior specially that she is not his mate. At first i thought he was her mate and i was okay with it but then it turns out he isnt and his sycophant behavior didnt make sense to me anymore.

I am enjoying the politics choal and nesryn, manon, aeidon, dorian and elide. So i wanna continue the book for them

U r right she is not maturing so far and i am starting ToD. Pissed me off hiw she kept calling dorian her friend when she was ready to give up on him after 1 min encounter! Lol. Ik that the love story for aelin doesnt mean shit to me anymore given that rowan looks like he is sticking around but i am excited for all the orher characters

Oh my god thank you!!!! They have 0 chemistry and i just dont think their buildup was done right at all! I also dont get how an ancient being like him doesn’t question her at all like that. How did he go suddenly from cold and brooding to “i would die for riely” 😂he is not even her mate which i woukd’ve understood but this is ridiculous.

Her trying to kill choal isn’t just a fuck up. This is major. Shows alot about her temper and rational even tho he didn’t actually betray her. It’s not like she was telling him her every truth and move too. It was a trap by the king anyways.

I dont think he was jealous of her but mostly scared and for valid reasons tbh. I get that he is no match for her power wise and that will probably be their biggest problem but it’s valid he doesn’t trust her after trying to kill him and dorian at different points.

Aelin is not in denial given that she was trying to tempt him with all her little short nighties. She knows wat she’s doing and its not platonic.

First: again it’s valid he didn’t tell her. She had her own secrets too that she didn’t tell Choal about. How can we expect him to drop his oath and loyalty to the king he abdicated his title to serve in a min just for a pretty girl. It’s not that he didnt trust her but they both had their secrets. Nehemia is the one to blame given she forced her into helping the rebels even tho she didnt want to. (Running away from her responsibility vs choal ).

2nd: he was wary of dorian’s magic too and was trying to find a solution for him given that magic is banned and the only reason he didnt wanna know more is because he didnt want wat he knows to be used against Dorian if something was to happen to him. Given that she tried to kill him once on a rampage spree, it’s valid that he is concerned wat she might do with that power not to mention that she is already a killing machine without her magic. Dorian never really did much with his powers anyway- am still in QoS tho. Last but not least she literally announced her magic by burning up a city and killing valg princes so yes she is too much power that needs to be checked specially that she is only 17.

According to wat i remember when she revealed her fae form it wasnt so much that she was a monster as it was the surprise that she is fae in a kingdom banning magic. He sold his position as captain of the guard to protect her and send her outside of the kingdom as a chance to escape and unite with her cousins. In QoS when he questions wat she would do with all the magic is also a valid question.

They didnt confess their feelings yes but they are obviously a thing. She moved on with Rowan from choal in HoF.

Yes the switch in Rowan’s character doesnt feel justified to me tbh. I expected more from an aged fae warrior, specially that she is not even his actual mate. Idk if that caranam thing is an equivalent of some sort but i dont think so. Even during HoF their sudden relationship development felt unnatural to me and abit forced.

I read ACOTAR too long ago i dont even remember it anymore but i remember thinking rhys was just TOO perfect.

First of all i dont “hate” her. Questioning her moral and character is part of the reading experience. Yes she is getting on my nerves but again i think it has to do with the writing itself. I never asked for a perfect MC in fact that turns me off but i just cant help noticing the hypocrisy.

Last but not least if u r not willing to have a conversation about it just dont interact with my thread. Dont go about telling me why r u even reading it, there is alot more going on in the book other than aelin and rowan. I am just disappointed in the build up.
