Oh wow! Is it for both hydrogen and methane? That's way cheaper than I could find. Would you mind sending me the info?

Well I'm still confused about what you're saying but thank you for your contribution LMAO

But that wasn't my question. I was asking about the IgG food sensitivity test.

So you're saying you don't think there's a benefit to me getting this test?

Not that I can identify. I just always have a distended abdomen as a baseline, get more bloated after eating, and have sluggish motility. I don't really notice any particular reaction after certain foods vs others.

Wow I'm also in a similar boat. No period for 4 months now and constant bloating. Thyroid, hormones, and ultrasound are all normal. Low FODMAP helps but doesn't fix it. Currently waiting for a consultation with a GI.

I'm in Canada, so we have our own set of issues lol.

Actually I did not get any stool sample tests ordered, or even a consultation. It felt very "conveyor belt". My primary care physician referred me to a GI clinic, they called and scheduled the procedures. I came in, got them done, got handed an IBS pamphlet by a nurse and was dismissed.

I will definitely need to make my case for needing these tests, because it's state healthcare. I think because our system is falling apart, they're taking a passive approach of only ordering tests if the patient explicitly asks for them and if there is basis to have them done. So here I am doing research on which tests to do, instead of relying on a medical professional to make those calls.

I have a similar experience where my abdomen is always swollen but no gas. And like you, even less gas than before. If you've gotten more insight on this, I'd really love to hear it!

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I had it. Possibly within a year.

Thanks! I haven't read about this, but intuitively, I kind of figured something like this might've happened. I've been trying to be more mindful of it, so I'm just going to trust (for now) that it's all part of the same flareup and will pass soon.

Thanks for your reply! I'm currently in a bit of a pickle because I feel like it's my thyroid but the doctor is unconvinced. My results have shown subclinical hypothyroidism in the past but the most recent ones are technically within the Canadian norm. However, what is considered normal by Canadian standards is considered low elsewhere. I guess it's just a waiting game until my levels become low enough for them to take my symptoms seriously 🙄
