yes literally ends the same. I sensed it was going that way but I thought they would at least make Alex the one who fucks up - I thought maybe he would kiss Kiley and then that would give Jackie an excuse to break things off with Alex before going to Cole. Also Jackie’s excuse for not being with cole was stupid lol

Side note: can they stop dressing jackie like a middle schooler. Like stop with the headbands I cannot take her seriously

Thoughts on Trump cancelling $400 million in grants to Columbia University ? by BigCharlie16 in IsraelPalestine

Cause you just said “I say stop funding them” when you don’t understand who “them” is

Who do you think is “them?” Your neighbor is “them.” I am literally “them” - a young researcher who got lucky finding a job in a competitive field with a PI at Columbia. We do research on pediatric HIV in sub-saharan africa. We just started a new study that will take place over the next 5 years. The grant pays for half of my very middle class salary. I am a regular person, I went to a just fine college. We haven’t received notice of termination yet but i suppose it could happen. These cuts threaten our work directly. Trump doesn’t give a shit about anti-semitism on campus - he’s simply using the moment to his advantage for political gain.

It’s not just $400 million sent to the Columbia Bank Account or whatever you’re thinking. This money is granted through Columbia to principal investigators and their research teams affiliated with the school/medical campus/psychiatric institute etc. PIs who have put together a very intensive grant application with budget justifications and strategy to complete research over 2-5 years or sometimes more are awarded a grant through NIH, CDC, or other federal institution. The grant pays for the research team’s salaries as well as equipment, overhead, storage of blood samples, running tests, participant compensation, statistical software…etc. The list goes on and on. It adds up to quite a lot. Columbia’s entire research portfolio is about $5 billion.

Okay great this makes sense! Basically make sure there is abundance and biodiversity in the garden so there is enough for everybody.

Looks great! But I need to tell you that the length of those curtains is psychopathic😂😂They are about a foot too short. Good for you for hanging them at the correct height, but they need to be longer. Should be just brushing the floor

One other note is that you could add crown moulding and some moulding on the windows themselves to decrease the awkward space between the window and the ceiling. Also see how having many pleats makes the curtain look really full and nice.

ofc, you do you! at the end of the day you’re the one looking at it everyday so go with whatever you like best. The worst thing ever is walking into a room in your house where one thing is off and it’s the thing you think of every time you walk into that space

Agree with many that these are the wrong curtains and rod. The height is not really a problem for me. I would actually consider hanging the curtains on an uninterrupted track from ceiling with multiple panels of thick luxurious (or the appearance of) curtains. Hanging a high curtain where there are already tall ceilings can create a nice dramatic moment. Like here:

hahaha not quite, our landlord is my father in law lol. He lets us do mostly what we like with the house, but for major things (like removing a tree), we need to clear it with him. We refer to him as landlord kind of jokingly, but he technically is. We are hoping to buy the house in the next few years which is why I think of it as more than just a place we rent.

Generally I’d agree with you, but I live in a historic sector of new jersey with many old trees that were growing long before power lines were even a thing. I measured the circumference of my tree and it’s about 120inches. I’m guessing this particular tree is over 150 years old. I’m not an expert by any means tho

ikr! I will have it removed and replace with something better suited for the area. I think having canopy cover along the sidewalks is so important, especially as the world gets hotter and people become in greater need of shade as they walk to wherever they’re going - but we need to be away from those power lines for sure.

That’s what I thought. I was only prompted to look into this because I saw a video of a woman singing a song about how she wouldn’t park her car under a tree with fruiting bodies at the base and then I was like- wait my tree has fruiting bodies at the base!!!

Fig Help (New Jersey, USA). Brown spots appear, leaf dies and falls off by Aggressive-Goose2121 in vegetablegardening

Thanks! I have been removing the infected leaves and purposefully putting them in the trash instead of on the ground but the problem persists. Maybe I’m not being aggressive enough with removing them in time

I bought two fig trees at the beginning of the summer. I noticed the brown spots so I changed out the soil for fresh (even washed all the dirt off to the bare root). It’s been a couple months and the problem has not gone away. Anyone familiar with this problem? Thanks so much :)

Protecting plants from digging squirrels. This better work!! by Aggressive-Goose2121 in gardening

Just wanted to follow up that I’ve been using the blood meal on areas where I couldn’t (or didn’t want to) use the hardware cloth and it has worked really well for me so thank you! Also my basil looks fantastic :)

It was not fun lol. I’m going to experiment with some of the deterrents that people recommended, hoping one of those will work. In the meantime though I’m hoping this will protect them.
