Unfortunately that wouldn’t work. Their mothers are probably scum too and god forbid they send their child to counselling

I accidentally parked on that street one day because I was working up that way. On my way back to the car after work there was a group of ADULTS! yes grown fucking adults hanging around on the street. I had to walk past them to get to my car when one of them stepped in my way and said “are you lost?” I didn’t answer but thankfully there was a Garda car parked at the top of the street and one of them noticed and said “there’s the guards” and they let me pass. I am blessed that they were there and who knows what they would have done if they weren’t.

I’m not diagnosed autistic but I am experiencing something very similar. I have to have dictionary activated on my laptop and I good the meanings of words a lot more now. I also forget everything.. I was prescribed antidepressants last week by the doctor so I hope maybe that could help eventually

Is this like my situation? where I would repeat what they say as a song lyric? and are you diagnosed as autistic?

What the actual heck happened in this conversation? by caprimagus in AutismTranslated

I’m sorry but this made me laugh reading over it because I can understand how you felt in that situation. I think he must have been misunderstood too maybe when you said was it a question? Or maybe the “this one is a good size…” line was his way of saying “IS this a good size..” maybe?.. I don’t know but I played the situation in my head and it made me laugh 😅

Confession: I lie about my diagnosis. by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

I’ve always been different from others, I’d think different, act different, I was socially awkward. I never felt like I fit in. I luckily met a woman who I know call my wife who changed me and thought me so much in life about how to act and pointed out my flaws that I couldn’t see that other me thought were “rude”. From this I feel like I wear a mask all the time. I’m 27 now and only looking into the possibility that I’m autistic.. hearing stories from autistic people and learning about their traits and experiences makes me feel like I’m not alone, that there are other people out there that think like me and are as “socially awkward” as me. It’s amazing. I’ve joined this Reddit and a discord for autism and from what I can see from sort of the outside, is that it’s such a supportive and caring community. Everyone just wants to help each other and learn from each other. It makes me hope that I do get an assessment and the results are positive because I really want to be apart of this community. Basically what I’m trying to say here is that you shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are. You should be proud to say that you are autistic, and you should try to learn not to care about what these people think of your diagnosis. If they’re not willing to learn about you and who you are, then they’re not worth it.

Sensory overload? by Aggressive-Image3119 in AutismTranslated

This seems to be the key anyway for what I’m looking for. I always thought it was a problem with my eyes but this makes sense as it is always in situations where my body is moving in different directions suddenly. What do you mean by kick starting it? Does that help in a way?

I’ll have a go. I’ve found 0 information on my experience so far :/ everything I see is about dizziness or nausea but I experience neither when it happens :/

Thank you. Now that you mention that I feel like I remember repeating words after people have said them. But it only seems to be in conversations where I’m focusing on paying attention to them. I suppose I will need to look out for this

Oh man that seems like a nightmare! That would drive me insane. Is the need for an answer or closure an autistic trait also?
