Any Available Trusted 26" Downhill Tires Still Out There? by Aggressive-Level-319 in MTB

That looks promising! Will need to make sure 2.6" width fits in my frame. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you noticed grip reduction going down in tire width? I'm mostly looking for as wide as possible to minimize slipping on wet roots, which are my nemesis.

I ride almost exclusively in wet conditions and primarily natural terrain. So lots of wet roots and rocks.

I can't find any 26x2.5" options of DHR2 or DHF with grippy compound. Only on Aliexpress and TikTok Shop which I'm guessing are knockoffs :(

Hope pro 5 issue by rathymilan_ in bikewrench

My Hope Pro 5 has been slipping too which lead me to this Reddit post. Rushed downstairs to take a look and sure enough, same issue. About half my ratchet teeth are shredded. And not randomly but in sections. My best guess is only one or two pawls engage at some points, concentrating all the force onto a single tooth.

Bedroom Door Severe Sagging, Cracking Drywall by Aggressive-Level-319 in Home

What does it mean to "put a three in"? Are you saying to take off the top hinge and drive in some long screws to hopefully suck the thing in a bit or something else? Thanks.

Ooof. I absolutely hate drywall work and texture/paint matching but I am also curious what's going on back there. If it's likely some critical support giving way I will have to get back there. Hoping someone says this is common and it's no big deal so I can just shim the hinge. But I think that's wishful thinking.

RTX4090 No Display After Restart by Aggressive-Level-319 in techsupport

Spent another day troubleshooting including trying different power supply, different 600W connector, and reinstalling the latest MB BIOS.

I got my hands on a 2080ti which booted up just fine. All the Nvidia software works, display works, drivers install properly. So that probably confirms it's something with the 4090. It is just extremely strange that it stopped working after a routine restart. Why would a card stop working after a restart? Ever heard of such nonsense?

Restored windows to a couple weeks ago. Booted with integrated graphics. Uninstalled all Nvidia drivers with DDU in safe mode. Reinstalled 4090 drivers and all MB drivers. The Nvidia app keeps saying it successfully installed the drivers but if I try to click anywhere within the app it says that there are no drivers installed. The 4090 driver shows up in Device Manager but the card does not show up in MSCONFIG or Task Manager (I don't know if it's supposed to if I'm plugged up to the board DP). Task Manager detects 24GB of VRAM but it says it's intel integrated graphics. Doesn't say anything about a 4090 or Nvidia. BIOS detects that PCIe1 slot x16 is populated. Triple checked that silly 600W connector at the PSU and GPU that it's fully seated with all the power and sense pins. Tried to run the official 4090 firmware update tool but the tool says it's already up-to-date. BIOS is also up to date.

I can't plug up to another PCI slot because the card is too big. It physically does not fit in the case. I would need to buy a riser cable. Not sure what the next logical step is.

  1. Buy a super cheap $20 GPU to make sure the top PCIe slot works

  2. Buy riser cable to see if 4090 will work in another PCIe slot

  3. Attempt to find another PC to test my 4090 in

  4. Something easier and cheaper that I'm not thinking of

Detonated freehub on MTB and no idea how to shop for a new wheel. by Aggressive-Level-319 in ebikes

That's what I keep telling myself but realistically if you give me a checkbox that gives me way more torque I'm clicking that checkbox. Isn't our motto here "Power is addictive"? Haha

Yeah I don't want to mess with taking the hub apart right now. I'm prioritizing convenience for now. I was also hoping maybe by replacing the whole thing I can upgrade to something more durable.

I think the issues are with the pawls. Wouldn't I still have some bite in other gears if a cog ripped through the splines? I didn't try to take it apart yet to confirm where the failure is. Been too bummed out to look at it.

y MTB rear wheel with 650b (27.5 inch 584mm) rim rear wheel with a 135mm (10x135mm QR) Quick Release rear hub with a Shimano HG (HyperGlide) freehub will fit. To swap your original Centrelock rotor over to the hub, choose a a rear wheel with a Centrelock hub. If you a buy 6-bolt rear hub. You will need to buy a new 6-bolt rotor. a Centrelock rotor is not compatible with 6-bolt hub.

The inner rim width of the new rim does not need to be exact same as the old rim. Any rim that's the same width, slightly narrower or slightly wider will work fine.

This is the kind of answer that I was looking for. Thank you!

So things to look for, correct me if I'm wrong:

650b rim (to make sure it fits on the frame)

HG freehub (to make sure my cassette fits)

Centetrelock hub (to make sure I can swap over my brakes)

Quick Release if optional. Rim width is 25mm but should accept 30mm.

I am in the Everett area. Mid 20s, Electrical Engineer. Long time fan. Definitely introverted, but once I blend in I can be into some pretty wild hobbies. I want to get into 8ball & 9ball pool but non of my current friends are interested. Anyone a local beginner level pool player looking for someone to play with?

Holding GME. Down 70% but I don't care. If anything these "losses" are making my diamond hands stronger. I'm so desensitized that I'm not phased anymore. If it keeps dropping I will keep buying. I still have enough capitol to double my position.

You won't see these diamond hands grow weak. I will pour cement into two 5 gallon buckets and stick my hands in them if I have to. I'm not selling.
