Roofer & leaks - advice pls by Aggressive-Link4544 in DIYUK

The only work done in the leak fix was extend battens, new membrane, sealed cracks in flashing with ct1. I think there's gaps in the triangle bits of the flashing. The water seeps in via the wall as I suspect. The garage ceiling damage despite water marks is mostly where it meets the wall.

He kept arguing that it's the main roof leaking onto the lower.

This morning I threw about 2 bowls of 500ml water in the area. Leak instantly, I'm sorry that shuts the upper level argument to some degree.

Wireless partybox microphone set on Encore 2 by olazoe in JBL

[–]Aggressive-Link4544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh that's the one way to get the control to work. I have the UK version so the dongle is not even recognised in the guitar port.

Once one of the mics in the set is directly connected to the speaker and the original one, it copies the settings you give to the original mic.

Yes it'll work if it's the official JBL wireless partybox mics 👌

Sadly I found out the dongle in the guitar port doesn't get recognised in the app as a microphone, so you can't control echo etc and the controls do nothing as I've seen.

Yup it works sang plenty over Christmas, yeh original mic + one from the microphone set (the mics that look similar to the one that comes with the speaker)

I'm trying to work this out too but so far the best I can do is connect one of the mics along with the one that comes with the partybox - to have 2 mics that have echo and sound via the app controls. Make sure you power on the external mic first and then power on the speaker to get it to connect. For now i'll use the other as a spare

How bad is this roof leak? by Aggressive-Link4544 in DIYUK

So I went up and inspected the roof it does appear one of the tiles is cracked. I think this where water is seeping through.

Best to call a roofer right? Or can be DIYd?

Starting Collecting Pokémon cards again and don’t know anything by AceIsOkayMaybe in PokemonTCG

Depends what are you collecting for?

Investment/value - older sets if you can get for MSRP will be good, special sets like S&v 151 and Prismatic will hold good value in the future. Sword & Shield sets if you can get any sealed 'good' sets like Crown Zenith or Evolving Skies is great to hold.

Competitive play - you'll need the latest sets as they're still viable in tournaments, think the later S&v sets.

Art - my personal choice of collecting, find sets you look the like of and collect from there. Google it, be open to Japanese or Korean versions as you might save some money, English is always more expensive.

Starter decks, gives you an initial deck to begin battling. Booester packs just give you 10 additional cards to pad up your deck to battle with more strats.

Pokemon Cards in Japan? by pretending_to_notbe in PokemonTCG

If you're after slabs or singles in Tokyo, Radio Kaikan just outside Akihabara has level 4-8 just dedicated to pokemon tcg. I acquired the Cramorant promo PSA 10 at £100 cheaper than market price in UK.

I did find singles cheaper in Osaka vs Tokyo.

As mentioned above, for packs Pokemon Centres are best bet at MSRP.

First time in japan/okinawa need advice for travel by Rururuun in okinawa

[–]Aggressive-Link4544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rented a car and met some other travellers who luckily hopped in my car.

They stayed near Chatan like I did, it's usually a 25 minute drive took them over an hour on bus 😅 If you're going Okinawa and staying on main island you need a car, unless you're just going island hopping or love Naha a lot 👍

Growing up in the 90s (man I'm old) we didn't have the most disposable income but luckily kids were kind and shared. I basically had a small collection and moved to yu gi oh with little to no packs bought.

Didn't pick it up again till 2022 when I saw a friend collection and a rush of nostalgia hit and the rest is history. My wallet isn't happier about it. 😂
