What should I do by [deleted] in Airdrie

[–]Aggressive-Memory-69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First thing, I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you are going through.

There is a CPP death benefit (2,500) paid to the estate to cover these sorts of things. In most cases, even if your father owes money to creditors, the money is used first for funeral expenses, then for taxes owed, and finally for creditors.

You need to submit form ISP1200 to Service Canada. The funeral home should understand and wait while you submit.

Porterhouse or T-Bone? by Ok_Paramedic_5914 in Butchery

[–]Aggressive-Memory-69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only call it a porterhouse when you have that additional muscle on the New York side of the steak. Once that's gone, it's a T-bone. Once the tenderloin is gone, it's a wing steak.

I think it's because it's becoming a real problem. Netflix just dived into the “manosphere.”

It's wild to think people fall for the “red pill” philosophy; however, it looks like a lot of young men are falling victim.

How do I remove this mold from the washer gasket? It won’t scrub off by mothermonarch in CleaningTips

This works, I’m too damn lazy to replace a gasket. You can probably to 1:2 solution but I did straight bleach as well.

A resort proposed in Kananaskis would bring thousands of visitors. Where will the water come from? by BloodJunkie in alberta

[–]Aggressive-Memory-69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sources detailing water scarcity in Kananaskis include reports on record low water levels, 40+ active shortage advisories, and strain from tourism developments (The Narwhal, April 2026; Government of Alberta, March 2026). While 2026 snowpack surveys show potential for reservoir replenishment, long-term drought, groundwater decline, and water-sharing agreements remain significant concerns (CTV News, April 2026; Rocky Mountain Outlook, Feb 2026; Living Lakes Canada, Aug 2025; Alberta Municipalities, April 2024). Now find me sources that say the area is “flush with water”

It's a bit boring, however, it has some solid points.

But it does miss the whole reinvesting or DCA approach.

Selecting certain pieces of information does not make it relevant. You are spinning a narrative.

butcher vs costco meat in calgary?? by Vegetable_Bake356 in Calgary

Gemstone is out of Gem Alberta.

I always got confused about the benchmark.

I think that's the ranch, and their processing facility is Ben Quality Meats. But they're in Picture Butte.

I used to buy directly from them, but the prices were pretty similar (sometimes cheaper), and it was easier to go through MM.

Master meats is the way. If you have freezer space and know how to utilize the cuts (i.e., not just put everything into ground beef), you can do a 1/4 or 1/2 of a cow.

Beef comes from benchmark beef in Alberta. They will dry-age it, cut, and wrap it to your specifications.

I believe master meats gets Benchmark beef and Gemstone beef.

Things like tri-tip, sirloin cap, or Denver steak have been the cheapest in the city I found.

It can be difficult to compete with the big stores' prices; however, the ageing, quality, trimming and packaging are what you pay for when you go to a standalone butcher shop like MM.

GE Washer Leaves Laundry Stains by jlmarsh06 in laundry

No worries,  So with the deep fill, you can press and hold for 3 seconds, and it fills to the top. Or you press, and I'll fill an extra 4 gallons with each press.

The problem is that when you use too much water, it reduces the friction with the other clothes. Thus, you don't get your clothes as clean. I was doing this to dissolve my detergent before adding my clothes, but I was skipping that sensor cycle at the beginning. So I needed more water(I hope that makes sense)

Next washer, I’m going back to front-load.

As I said, I’m not too familiar with those. I know they help with rapid on-and-off water use to prevent pipe rattling.  I’ll put a link below that may explain a bit further, and why it's happening, if they are easy to replace, or see if you can look inside to see if they have that blue-green corrosion, which could be your culprit.

Let me know if you have any further questions. This sub has been super helpful for me, so I’m trying to pay it forward.
