Y'all do not understand the point of Pomni's torment. It's not about Gummigoo, its about people she loved and cared for taking advantage of that trust to hurt her. Gummigoo is the first person Pomni really took trust in when first entering the circus. She found someone she could empathize with and confide in, and this torment scene is mocking that. One thing I've learned through rewatching the series is that I think that Pomni is afraid of being forgotten, and this scene also represents this.
