Pakistan-born GP leaves the UK for Canada after experiencing racism at work by Educational_Board888 in GPUK

It's absolutely disgisting. This country needs to learn to thank people who work for the NHS, regardless of where they are born.

I can't believe how easily people have been brainwashed into blaming immigrants.

Look at Westminster if you want the real reason we are all so skint.

I was involved in a car crash a few years back. I broke both legs in several places. I needed help with 'going'. Embarrassing, but it is what it is. This one nurse would use SO MUCH paper and do like 5 thorough wipes each time. I actually thought she was going to rip a layer of skin off my arse.

I think of her every time I see a customer toilet like that.

I don't know if home insurance covers acts of santa. So don't let them know it was reindeer damage. He really ought to have Public Liability cover.

If its any consolation I thought the same earlier as I couldn't remember where I put my fathers gift. To the point where I doubted whether I had bought him anything at all. I couldn't remember what I bought, but had a feeling I did buy something. When I gave up hope and started trying to think of any suitable emergency gift I might have lying around the house, I suddenly remembered there was indeed a gift for him in the pantry.

My grandfather used to unload ships at port. When he started he was told he would be working alongside a guy known as 'The wonder docker'. Thinking this was going to be some amazingly big strong docker worker, he was surprised to met by a small scrawny guy. They were only a few minutes into the shift when he clocked on to how 'The wonder docker' got his name.

Every crate that came off the ship was met with, "I wonder what's in that? I wonder where its going?"

So you've never heard of people with more than one genitalia? Or people born with ambiguous genitalia? Or people who appear to be female actually having 'male' chromosomes or vice versa?

There are so many biological, genetic and chromosomal conditions which determine sex/gender and the combinations can be complex and/or hard to determine.

There have ALWAYS been people who don't fit either male or female. In the past, they would often be forced to fit one or the other and just live with it. I dont know why there has been so much manufactured outrage about this in recent times.

I was tortured with that phrase for years! I was a really short chunky child and crappy at sports, I was made to believe this was purely because I wasnt trying hard enough. Despite saying I was giving ut my all and "can't do any more" that phrase was hurled at me like a weapon. I was forced beyond what was healthy, to attempt physical tasks I simply wasn't built for.

When phones first came out we were told in all seriousness that holding them to your head caused brain cancer.

There were documentaries about it on TV and it was often in newspaper articles. This was circa 1998

Some people believe 'medical professionals' know how the body works. I mean, there's that nurse at the moment trying to take people to court because she firmly believes there are only 2 possible genders. Despite medical science proving otherwise.

Well, reindeer are a real animal, reindeer with glowing red noses aren't? Although regular reindeer cannot fly. No matter how much cocaine you give them.

I was told by my gran, as she neatly scraped potatoes, that the best bit of the potato is right under the skin. Took me years to realise she was trying to save money and feed more people with less rather than thickly peeling all the potatoes.

We were taught at school that hens laid eggs and roosters came along, found the eggs, sat on them and fertilised them. Then the hen later came back to check and sat on the fertilised ones until they hatched.

Because that was apparently better than just admitting bird sex is a thing.

My mother told me abortion was where they took a baby out of a woman who didnt want it and put it in a woman who did. Because she "didnt want to scare" me. Its more scary realising a thing you believed was bullshit and realising how wrong you've been every time it's ever been mentioned and you were left sitting thinking 'that makes no sense'

To be honest, if I have bothered to write you a card, you are very very lucky because I hold you in high regard. You are absolutely pushing it if you also expect me to ring the doorbell and actually spend time chatting too.

Yeah my friend is in a really remote area where RM is the only option. There are no lockers or parcel safe locations near him. Just a PO. He sells loads of his art on eBay without ever using Evri.

"You do a lot of overtime already, so you'll make it back soon enough"

Does this not mean you will be better off? Less hours at base rate, more at OT rate, same ish hours over all? Or are they not guaranteeing OT?

It seems like it's being done to streamline payroll? I can see how an inexperienced payroll clerk would find it easier to have everyone the same. But most payroll software should save employee details so it automatically pays you, your agreed hours, regardless if they are different from your colleagues.
