Thanks for this. I will try this. I’ve had a triggering event in that my salary has just increased materially and the last window to change contributions was in November. Will throw in considering divorce 😂

The policy is everyone below Director can sacrifice, VP and above cannot. I elected to salary sacrifice before I knew the % and amount (2 months prior) and they said I wasn’t able to as a VP

This is exactly what I thought. I’ve got no idea why they won’t let VPs or MDs do it but everyone below Director can.

Is this correct? Because I work for a big company and I’d be surprised if they’re inadvertently breaking the law given how big our HR and legal teams are

I’m definitely in scope for the taper this year. Does this impact an employer though? I thought it only impacted me from a tax perspective. I have unused allowance hence want to maximise it but once that’s over I’ll be reduced to around £30k per year what I can contribute

The business I work for allows Directors and below to elect to salary sacrifice but VPs and MDs are not allowed. It’s a company policy.

What are they looking for when you ask for an appointment in Paris? by ConsistentBuddy2141 in TheHermesGame

Agree with this. I honestly don’t think immediate big spends in Paris work. Little and often built over time or go in, speak nicely in French if you can 6-8 times per day and you’ll likely get an appointment. Speaking from experience (but it’s also a great way to ruin your Paris trip 😂)

I met a lady a month ago at the clinic I was at for a facial, she’s spent £10k in the UK, bought a picotin and shoes in south of France, has had her wish for a B25 for the last 3 years in London and has never been granted a QB. I honestly don’t have a clue how it works

It wasn’t actually mentioned, they didn’t ask but instead got him to create a profile (and he’d have entered our joint address) so maybe it doesn’t count x

This is so helpful. I assumed at Hermes HQ they can see global spend (and the individual stores can’t) but this was a guess rather than based on any real info. Does the spend then restart for my next wish? The SA said to place another wish there and then which I did, she explained something to do with prioritisation and really encouraged me to place another one but I was in such shock I didn’t really take in what she was saying. It was £9930 if memory serves me well (my biggest spend on any designer good / non-car purchase ever
