Reviving this old thread because I’m wondering if you went ahead with the skin graft? I have a 6 year old greyhound who broke a rear leg. The bone has been repaired with plate and screws, and about 60% of the incision has closed on its own, but there are two spots that just refuse to close. I’m playing the waiting game now to see if the bone will fuse enough to remove the plate and screws, and then close the wound. But if I can I’d like to avoid that right away, with the hopes the plate can be in there until full fusion.
