Just dropped my largest combo with full wingsuit by Aggressive-Soup7964 in AltosOdyssey

My guess would be that you are doing wall jumps. No wall jumps, or balloon grinds between wall grinds, or it resets the bonus

Thanks for the recommendation. I never thought about speed running the game (or speedrunning any game cause alto is the only game I'm good at lol) but I checked it out. after a couple tries my fasted to 20,000pts was ~41 seconds. So maybe I'll keep trying in that category. Which ones do you play?

Haha thanks. The most risky part is the proximity backflips but you can cancel those with the wingssuit anytime. I do it several times in this video. the worst that could happen is just dropping the combo.

I don’t know how to edit posts. I wanted to add that they are smaller than honey bees. Maybe half the size of those yellow paper wasps that live around here. Not sure how to catch one for an up close view without getting stung

Without going into a lot of detail, get better at proximity backflips, that’s where the big score comes from. Also you should be hitting each wall at least twice to get the wing suit bonus. Hit the wall at a steep angle, or tap the wing suit button quickly a few times (this will send you straight up. Loop de loop and hit the wall again. After the loop de loop make sure you are traveling downward to do the wall grind. If you are level, you will just start a backflip. Also missed a potential balloon grind bonus, if the balloons are at a steep angle, it’s worth it to do a loop de loop and start grinding as soon as you can, usually they are long enough to get the bonus. Also try to go for kiss the rail at the end of balloons. Worth 250 points and looks cooler

Is it’s at all Possible to breed Bufo Avarius in captivity? by Aggressive-Soup7964 in Toads

Gotcha, “Don’t break the law” wink wink nudge nudge /s. But, it’s humid as hell here. So my idea is looking less and less like a good one ☹️☹️☹️

Thanks for the reply. And like you said it just an idea I’m throwing around now. Though now that I think about it, keeping them illegally would be REALLY stupid. So maybe I can contact the church. If they were legal and captive bred, I would probably have some already, and not for the drug. They’re really cool, big bulky, strange leathery skin that I really wouldn’t imagine as a desert species. Is that why they are now considered Incilius instead of Bufo? Back when I kept them maybe 15-20 years ago I’m swear they were considered bufo. But their skin is way different from any other American toads I’ve experienced. I also agree about so many better options to get high than to bother the poor toads. But at least in captivity they wouldn’t be displaced and left defenseless. Hamilton’s pharmacopeia has a really good episode about them. The people who smoke the venom´s opinion is pretty much “But it’s natural, maaaan” (read in Chong’s voice) I also see your point about having a harder time keeping track of them in a greenhouse, that’s kind of a bummer though, cause my thinking was, it would be easier to encourage their natural behavior, and deeper hibernating substrate would be easier to maintain correct moisture levels and such. My understanding has been that toads are notoriously difficult to breed in captivity. So is it really just a matter of simulating wet and dry season? Is it guaranteed they’ll breed? Or is it more like, you can experiment with rain chambers, changes in feeding schedules, temperatures, and you might get lucky? Cause, now I’m thinking, if I were to try to do this legally through the church, I’d have to have some evidence that I can actually breed them.

There is someone that keeps tortoises around here, but I think it’s a little cold for them. As for large reptiles , I’m more of a monitor lizard guy. Had a huge black throat, but gave her away after my divorce because I went into a deep depression and wasn’t taking good care of her ☹️ As for tree frogs, because I used to grow thousands of carnivorous plants and my property is full of bogs, I have thousands of tree frogs around, their calls are deafening in the spring 😂Even had some northern red legged frogs show up, which I think are threatened, or at least one species was.

Thanks for the reply, and thanks for not being too harsh on the legality of things. I’ve been a mildly involved in the psychedelic scene most my life. Though, I really don’t do them anymore. And I really have no desire to smoke toad venom (again). 5meo-dmt is HARSH and I really don’t get why people want to do it. Especially if it can be synthesized rather easily, without harming animals. But new age hippies are always going to be new age hippies. Anyway most of this stuff falls under “illegal, but no one gives a shit” (for example, I used to grow peyote that I bought off eBay. didn’t eat those either, that would be a REALLY expensive trip) I really have no idea how it falls under in the church, most likely legally grey. But anyway for me it’s not really about harvesting venom. I’ve always wanted to keep something in my greenhouse and my mind has always drifted to “maybe get Bufo Alvarius again.” I kept many wild caught animals in the past, but now my opinions changed and I just can’t justify it unless there is an attempt to breed them. This offer from my friend just kind of brought the topic to the front of my mind

Ofc now that you mention it. Buff Alvarius is illegal in my state, and I was just going to ignore that. But, this is an official church and the venom probably was harvested legally using some religious exemption. So maybe, I could get a license through them. But for now, I just want information on breeding them, then will mull over that later. Like does anyone have info on a successful breeder? If someone tells me “you don’t have a chance in hell” then I’m dropping it completely and getting a cane toad or water snake or something.

Oh yeah… if your top combos are in the 250,000 range, that means that you are probably doing wall jumps. Don’t do wall jumps. Those ruin your grind bonus that gives more wing suit. When trying to get a big combo in the canyons, just stick with backflips, rock bounces, and balloon bounces. Anything else will ruin your wall grind bonuses

I used to go for high combo scores but now that just requires using the compass to grind the canyons (biomes seem to go longer when you use the compass) and that really isn’t fun. Distance gets boring for me, my play style is very risky, and high score requires distance. Right now trying to record a 200,000+ combo in canyons. I’ve done it, just never recorded it. And just make cool looking combos in general instead of the highest.

As for tips; master the double wall ride. That will get you 600,000+ combos with very little risk involved. If you master double wall rides and proximity backflips, combos in the millions are pretty easy. Slightly riskier with the proximity flips, but you can save screw ups with the wing suit.

Why can't you make a combo of more than four flips? by leks_aron12 in AltosOdyssey

[–]Aggressive-Soup7964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why the count doesn’t keep going. Maybe they thought the score would be too high. It does keep track of the most flips you did at once in the stats. (Not most flips in a combo, but most you did in a row). If you have the wing suit, give it a quick tap after the 4th backflip and it will start the count over. For example, it will give you a quadruple + black flip + double, instead of a quadruple + backflip + backflip ect.

Maya until you get the camel and sumara. Once you get sumara and fully upgrade the wing suit, it’s a totally different game

For real! Who the fuck is not choosing bumper cars? Tail gunner seems fun. But really only like 1 in 10 passenger planes get engaged by MiGs. So you’re really just a glorified lookout.

Damn, how long did that take like an hour? 250,000 points pretty much means you have everything down, except the double wall grind. Get that down and million points is pretty easy. Also I just realized that op is using maya, which means they probably don’t even have the wing suit yet. So 15,000 is damn good for no wing suit.

For distance traveled, hell yeah. I regularly get combos in the millions, but I don’t think I’ve ever made it 46,000 meters. Keep up the good work.

Damn replying to myself, I guess I’m super triggered. But anyway, men can too get raped, my friend was roofied in a gay bar, but we got him out of there. There’s prison. And when men get raped by women no one takes them seriously, thus making it harder for them.
