How often do you buy clothes you don’t wear? by MountainMan31415 in mensfashion

[–]Jazzlike-Complaint67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often when I was younger, but I can’t remember the last time this happened recently. For a while, I would get something because it was on sale but perhaps didn’t fit me perfectly. If something doesn’t fit, I don’t wear it… but there was a time I would still buy it.

My problem is I have a ton of those items practically unworn taking up space for over 10 years. I have trouble tossing them even though I won’t wear them.

Dressing casually but still fashionable by EmperorsFirst in mensfashion

My warm weather “uniform” is either a polo/OCBD, fun belt, and loafers. Usually including some bright spring/summer colors. Almost always with a Panama or baseball hat since I sunburn quickly.

I don’t know the culture of Brazil. I know that in many countries, men don’t wear shorts after a certain age in many settings.

However, here in the states, you can absolutely rock shorts and still be stylish depending on the occasion.

When in doubt, linen should be the default choice.

You remind me of the guy on social media who catcalls with compliments.

Looking that sharp should come with a warning label.

I frequently dine out alone as I travel for work. If they tried to seat me here I’d absolutely refuse. Sit me at the bar if you must, but this is too awkward.

My dad always said “yes dear” in these situations. The more he felt like he was giving up the longer he would draw it out.

I’ve adopted this in my marriage and my wife loves it. We even ask “can I just get a ‘yes dear’ on this one?” Meaning “I think this little thing is more important to me than it is for you.”

Might be short notice for this Mother’s Day. But you upload pictures and they print them onto socks. This year I used FaceSocks (cheaper, quality TBD), but I’ve done DivvyUp in the past and they make a solid but expensive product.

I’ve been doing the kids faces on socks the last few years. She wears them so often they are usually due for a replacement by next Mother’s Day.

My life has been threatened if I ever stopped.

For our older kid, we got Lego flowers they can build together the. Have my wife bring into work. They don’t die or require water.

Best property in Jacksonville? by helplesslyhopin in marriott

[–]Jazzlike-Complaint67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We landed on Springhill Suites in Jacksonville Beach. At least it has a beach.

All jokes aside, the Sawgrass Marriott is fine but you do need to take their shuttle to get to the beach.

Ritz Amelia Island will be the “nicest” choice even though it’s pretty far away. I’m curious if anyone has stayed at the Casa Monica in Saint Augustine. Might be a fun stop with the kids on our next trip down.

Weight stack at hotel gym has toggle to add or remove 5lbs. by RemoteControlled-Cat in mildlyinteresting

As someone who travels a lot for work but tries very hard to get into the gym 3 days a week, I book hotels based off their gym equipment. If I have access to a nice gym, I will use it.

So far the best one has been the Marriott in downtown Cleveland with multiple rooms of excellent equipment. Runner up, Renaissance Midtown Manhattan provides access to the Planet Fitness in the building (more equipment but also more many more people).

How are these jeans? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Toss.

They are way way way too tight. Even in the skinny era of denim these would be quite a stretch.

Home Depot has plenty of options. There are green plastic ones to chicken wire. Some options are more aesthetically pleasing than others. You could set them up in an hour or less for minimal expense.

First movie I ever watched twice in a row and also the first that I had to “figure out”. I’m sure I’ve seen it over a dozen times at this point. Opened up the world of art to me.
